Peter's decathlon team walked down the street towards the diner where they usually practiced at, MJ had said they needed to study more for an upcoming event they were attending. The group was talking with each other, everyone but Peter. He could feel a slight tingle in the back of his neck. Peter glanced Behind the group and saw a man following them but still trying to blend into the crowd.
Peter was about to point that out until Sally beat him to it, she glanced behind them and whispered among the group
"Do you guys see the creepy dude following us?"
It was clear she was a bit nervous about the situation, her nerves spread out towards the others who checked behind them and saw him. Flash faced the group a wide grin on his face. "Don't worry guys, I'm here to protect you" he winked at the group. Betty rolled her eyes and in the most sarcastic tone she responded "oh yay.."
Flash deflated placing his hands on his hips glaring at Betty. While Flash argued back Ned leaned towards Peter and whispered "do you think he's like, a bad guy?"
Peter nodded "yeah I think so, I just don't know what he wants"
The team had finally made it to the diner, they all sat at their regular table. The diner was pretty empty asdie from couple sitting near the window. That's why this diner was their regular meet up spot, barely anyone came there.
The group had already started practice when the man who had followed them walked inside. The group looked up and Peter's heart dropped.
How was he supposed to protect a whole group of people without revealing his identity!?
The group had noticed the man and started whispering to each other while Peter glared daggers into the man. He stopped once Betty called his name
"Peter stop staring at him! He's gonna come over here-" Ned interrupted her glancing at Peter, the man, and then Betty "I think he's gonna come over here regardless-" he was cut off just like Betty by Flash
"I can punch him!" He stood up and was pulled back down by Sally "you will absolutely not punch him, sit back down." Flash quietly groaned, annoyed. Sally rolled her eyes at his childish behavior. She was about to speak again when the man walked over. The whole group fell silent.
The man looked over the teens till his eyes landed on Peter. "You." Peter slowly looked up at the man, his Spidey sense quickly warned of danger. The man spoke again.
"Stand up." Peter complied, he could hear is team whisper in protest telling him to not listen. Once he stood the man pushed Peter against the table so he couldn't move.
"Hey get-" Peter quickly turned around to face Betty, he pleaded with his eyes for her to remain silent. She stood still staring at Peter. He turned back towards the man glaring, ready to fight if he needed too.
"What do you want?"
The man grinned as he still held on to Peter's shirt. He let out a low chuckle.
"Do you remember the name Adrian Toomes?" Peter tensed in the mans hold his hands a bit shakey. His Deactholon team stared at Peter in confusion what's liz's dad have to do with this?
Peter stared at the man in the eyes "No."
The older man smiled again "I think you're lying."
Peter tried to push the mans hands away from him but he stopped when suddenly a gun was placed by his head. His team quietly gasped behind them and he could practically feel the panic radiating off of them.
"What's he have to do with this?" Peter tried to keep his voice stern but a bit of fear shone through, no matter what he can't let his team get hurt.
The man chuckled tighting his grip on Peter "well kid, he's placed a bounty on you and it's worth...a lot."
Peter froze, panic filling his veins a bounty?! What?! Oh god.
