After the incident with Valentino you had preferred to stay with Orso at Husk's bar, you were much more reassured, you didn't want to stick too much Charlie who was all the rage with her dress, some demons also looked at Vaggie with envy, but she captured less attention than the princess. Nikolai stayed with Angel, who avoided by all means possible and imaginable to be in the same room as Valentino. Something you could hardly blame him for, the sight of this pimp made you nauseous.
On rare occasions you would exchange glances with the spider, however, as soon as Angel's eyes locked with yours, he looked at you with a contempt that would give you an awful pain in your stomach, and very quickly you were the first to look away.
The only consolation you had was the large number of demons that had come to the party thanks to the interview, but unfortunately you couldn't enjoy it. Orso would give you a few worried looks at times but couldn't really find anything to say, he just watched you in silence while trying to find simple words to try to cheer you up. Just like Husk, he had quite easily noticed the tension between you and Angel.
The cat cleared his throat, grabbed your attention and said in a deep voice while cleaning a glass.
"You know, you shouldn't worry about it. You did what you thought was best, you have nothing to blame yourself for," Husk said.
You blinked with surprise, you didn't think this alcoholic cat would be able to guess so easily what had happened between you and Angel. However, your shock was quickly replaced by neutrality, then regret on your face.
"He's a customer Husk. I should have told him about the agreement I had made with Valentino."
Orso, despite his lack of English skills, tried to understand you, and was able to deduce what had happened. He gently tapped your shoulder and asked, trying to speak English.
"You, deal, with..." he called Angel "His boss?"
You nodded silently.
"And H-he d-didn't like ?"
You nodded your head again.
"Husk....right." He said
You tilted your head to the side and asked him what made him think that way. This made the bear uncomfortable. He scratched his head and looked up at the sky to look for the words he needed to use.
"Hum... eh... I... uh... do same if I were you." Said the bear, using his hands awkwardly so that you could understand him.
You couldn't help but smile a little at his willingness to speak English to you despite his great shortcomings. Certainly, his words, consoled you only a little, but you would be lying if you said that he hadn't reassured you a little.
"Thank you Orso. "You said nicely, giving him a grateful smile, and then you noticed that Boris had sat down at a table and started talking with Rosie. Normally you would have shrugged your shoulders and turned your attention to something else, but Boris' extremely serious look alerted you especially when Rosie's expression became much more amused. Unfortunately, you were too far away from your friend and the loud music was not helping you hear their conversation.
"In your opinion Husk..." you asked in a distrustful tone without looking away from the scene in front of you. "What are they talking about? "
The cat squinted with annoyance and looked at your friend and the woman overlord for a few seconds before pouring another glass of alcohol.
"I don't know and I don't care. What's wolf? Are you jealous?"
You rolled your eyes with annoyance and looked at Husk coldly.
