You were not happy at all. The news that Charlie and Boris had brought you was fundamentally bad, not to say catastrophic.

You had already learned that 3 other exterminations had taken place while you were sleeping and that the climate in hell had become considerably tense, the streets were no longer safe and the turf wars were going on. Fortunately, Fos, Orso and Boris had managed to protect your territory during your convalescence and to make the inhabitants of your neighborhood believe that you were doing very well.

However, the bad news didn't stop there, Boris and Charlie had shown you a clip from a Vox TV show on a laptop and you felt your stomach turn with disgust and contempt. Your whole body tensed up at the venom that this TV demon was spreading without the slightest remorse.

Vox was indeed running a propaganda campaign. During the program, he would broadcast chilling testimonies from the survivors of the exterminations and take great pleasure in asserting that the violence the exterminators had shown was really only the result of the princess's obstinacy in making sure that her redemption project existed. On one of the videos that was shown, you even had to stop watching because on one of them you saw Tenardier being roasted alive by BF/N himself. The poor guy was already on the ground, exhausted, and unable to move. You had to raise your eyes to the sky to try to stop yourself from crying, and then you had to take many breaths to calm the anger that was building up inside you.

You had to do something, and silence Vox's words before he stifled any hope of redemption in the demonic society. Fortunately Charlie had not let herself be defeated and firmly indicated that she was continuing to distribute leaflets to the citizens of hell with Vaggie, she also warned you that Fos was doing his best to discredit Vox through his newspapers and that Alastor was doing the same with the radio. Admittedly, the media impact was less powerful, but it was better than nothing.

As for your territory, you asked Boris to do whatever was necessary to help the demons in it. Hopefully, some of them will return the favor, perhaps some might even be tempted to make amends.

Once you had taken stock of the situation you asked Charlie to speak with her privately, you had to at least warn her that you had seen her father and the strangeness of your dream with all the crosses and religious signs you had seen.

The princess was quite surprised, she had no doubt that her father would visit you, let alone in this way. Nevertheless, the fact that you mentioned the different religious signs in your dream was quite confusing for her. You weren't really religious, let alone fanatical. Perhaps it was simply due to the memories you had of the Bible when you had to work on it for the interview. However, when you told her that her father had a serious expression when he looked at the religious signs, her face closed slightly. This was not normal. Her father would have probably shrugged if the symbols didn't mean anything. Something was wrong.

Charlie had taken several steps into your room trying to find an answer to all this. The first thing that came to mind was your possible "redemption", but unfortunately that assumption didn't really seem to hold water because of everything that had happened in the last 4 weeks, plus your appearance hadn't changed. None of this made sense. Why would the Virgin, mother of Jesus Christ, appear to you through paintings? It didn't make sense.

Charlie touched the bottom of her face, her eyebrows furrowed in intense thought. She examined you more closely to make sure you hadn't changed, your fangs were still there, your skin was still white, your hair was still white. You still had your wolf ears and tail, and the white part of your eyes were still yellow. Nothing had changed.
