Seeing your apartment was not as joyful as you thought it would be. Now that you were rediscovering it after all those long weeks of absence, you realized how cold it felt. The more you looked at him, the less you felt at home. It was strange.

Another thing that bothered you was the dust that had accumulated over time. Oh my goodness, you were so bored with the idea of cleaning that you let your shadow give you a little help.

You started the steps in order, first dusting, vacuuming, washing the windows, and then mopping. Within a few hours your apartment was already in better shape. You allowed yourself a little break on the couch and without realizing it you fell asleep for a few minutes. Heh... you could already hear Alastor's admonitions for "working" and thus getting tired when you were supposed to be resting.

In your sleep you grabbed a cousin and held him close. You weren't having a nightmare for once. Finally the only thing you remembered was that you were dancing with someone. You didn't know who, it could have been anyone, your ex-boyfriend, Alastor, Boris, or a stranger. One thing was certain though, you felt far too good to have a dance partner who was a hateful person like your boss. No, you were at peace with this stranger.

. . .

Until several knocks on the door woke you up and made you fall off the couch.

Of course the impact on the floor was not very painful, but the frustration of being pulled out of a beautiful dream made you wince with anger. You stood up and readjusted your hair, still tangled from your previous actions.

"For once I was fine" You muttered through your teeth and walked with a heavy and noisy step towards the door, ready to give the most icy welcome to the being who had dared to wake you up.

...

And unfortunately, when you saw Alastor's big golden smile, your frustration stifled your anger and made a bored expression appear on your face. It was better not to explode in front of him. After all he was the one who asked you to take a day for yourself.

"Al... this better be urgent for you to bother me on my day off" You stated acidly, causing the deer to chuckle a little which irritated you.

"What?"

"Don't you think you're being a little bit hypocritical my dear?"

"You're not going to blame me for enjoying my day are you?" You replied defensively.

Alastor looked over your shoulder with a smirk and noticed your mop soaking in his (now cold) bucket of water , then his eyes drifted for a moment to your messy hair.

"You have a strange way of enjoying your day."

"To each his own," You argued. "So can you tell me what brings you here?"

"Nothing in particular my dear" replied Alastor cheerfully "I have just finished my work at the Hotel and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to invite you to dinner in a quiet place without all the scum of the world to disturb your pretty little head clouded by your unfounded uncertainties!"

You had to take the time to analyze his sentence several times to understand everything, as soon as you understood what exactly the deer wanted, you felt your heart tighten with apprehension.

A dinner with the radio demon without being under contract? A simple, classic dinner between two work colleagues?

You swallowed your saliva and took a quick breath as you thought carefully about his proposal. Your anger at having been awakened was now completely gone, and all that remained was surprise and a little concern. You didn't really know how to react for once, it was as if you were balancing on a beam and Alastor was the wind that threatened to blow you over.
