Folks, that Roger Kern, well, he came off as good person. His story seemed honest, he didn't seem prone ta wild tales. He even didn't want ta go near the place after, or any his workers. My thinkin is even ifin it's just a normal act a nature. This do need investigated. This may slow me down, gettin ta Tam, but I think I am the one; that should be lookin inta this. So this part starts mornin befer gettin ta Kern's home. Here we go!

Kern wouldn't let me drive, the whole journey. Folks the sun was up, we had been on the move just pass day break. I asks so when we gets ta yar land? Kern say been on it now full day, the main house, only abouts hour away. Didn't want ta cross the Arkansas River, at dark.

Folks as we crossed the river, I looked the road turned ta gravel bouts 80 feet pass the river bank.
I asks is it like this all the way, ta yar house? He say, we try an keep it that way. Got near hundred workin here, close ta 2,000 head a cattle near the same in horse farm about forth of it. Plant corn an a little wheat. Hell were one the ones that make corn licker fer the Rangers.

Folks had ta ask, who the Sam White hell can not spell? I asks.

Kern he smiled, Common don't rightfully know. That name been around befer me, hell an I am 74 year old! He smiled an say, I'll make sure ya get the good stuff we make, befer ya leave. He say gettin close, folks they was lamps along the road both sides. I could see barns, what looked like barracks
an a large home, couple smaller houses off ta both ends. The road ended in a huge circle near the larger home.

Kern stopped, say Grande, Common my home! My Pa started it, we both built it ta one the best Ranches around. Then he say, it ain't the largest but it's the best trinket maker an the most versatile ranch in Texas! Folks not sure abouts all that, Kern talkin not me. Folks Kern, wasn't much on the fancy side, his house looked like most well off farmers. Large main room few chairs scattered about, the floor open fer parties I reckon.

What he called his office had a bar set up ta the side, a parlor right fine easy chairs in it. Kern shouted Floyd I am home! This fella dressed like a city slicker, stepped in from what looked like the dinin room. Say Mister Kern, I didn't get word ya were home. I see we have a guest, I'll take care him right fast. Kern say get us a drink first then have thum stable his horse, bring in his saddle bags. I say just the two that have the stars at the top, they in the front the saddle.

Floyd asks in the parlor sir, that where ya like the drink? Kern say that a do. Kern say let's have seat, as he walked towards the parlor. Floyd brought us whisky, folks it was a deep tan color. Kern say this stuff is aged five years. Think ya will enjoy it, this is some the best we make here.

Folks that whisky was the best I had in some time. How a man that makes corn licker, fer Ranger Command, makes this, wonders never cease! I asks ifin I could talk ta those that seen that light. Kern say later, they all out workin. Most a be back in about two hours. Floyd a show ya, yar room. Figure ya might want clean up some, get some rest in. I say could use that.

Folks, talked ta all three thum, that saw that light. Jim the one that heard the noises, a be the one I tell ya abouts. Jim tell me it was a wonder he hopes ta never see again or hear.

I asks him, ta tell everythin he can remember a that night. Even somethin he thinks don't matter.

Jim say, my thinkin is, was about 11 at night maybe midnight. I was just ridin the ranch checkin the herd is all. Stopped ta walk stretch some, out near monument rocks. I say monument rocks? He say yep, place has these huge boulders an rocks all around. Figure I was near a mile away from it.

First off, I hear this funny noise, kinda like a squeaky door noise, an a wahurr. Then this light came out the ground! It lit those boulders up! Like it was daylight! Ranger, could a swore I saw what looked like a person come out that light! Don't think it lasted much more than twenty minutes.

Heard that same noise as that light just wents away. My it was just strange, an it put the fear in me. I say, that does sound a might strange, ya remember anythin else? He say no, Ranger not a thin more. I tell him thanks, he can go on an leave. Ifin anythin come ta mind abouts this, ta let me know. Then I say, needs ya ta take me out, ta that exact spot ya saw this from. Kern was in the room, he say, show that spot Jim, then ya can have the rest day off. He nodded say, Ranger leave about 8 I reckon. I say that fine Jim I a be ready.

Folks, Jim he gots me ta the spot he saw the light. Was near a mile ta that monument thin. He saw it from just a little rise above it. Not much though, this part the country rather flat. I say I can find my way back, Jim ya can head on back. I wanta check this over some. Then come back close ta dark.

Well folks that monument thin, just did not look natural at all, once I got close. Ifin ya looked close the rocks an boulders formed a circle, with a few scattered around away from that circle ta look natural. The center was about ten foot big inside that circle. No rock in it, grass was all. Folks I looked, an saw what looked like a path in the grass between a couple the larger boulders.

Sure wasn't an animal trail it ended in the circle, they was a larger spot the grass was the same. Like someone or somethin was stayin in the spot enough ta leave bare spots on the ground. Folks I sat in that spot outside that circle an looked at those two boulders. Thinkin on this some.

I checked those two boulders over, fer what Keefer called a touchpad. Ya know folks, that glass looking thin with numbers an letters on it. Well, I didn't see one those. So figured I would get some stuff fer later. Get a little closer not much more, I want ta observe at least one night. Looked fer a spot ta watch from ta my left was little knob with a couple trees I could sit in. About quarter mile, from it. I say that be the spot I watch from.

Folks, I had Kern brin me out, so didn't have ta worry about my horse spookin this light show. I had my coffee pot an coffee a small coal oil stove. Folks that is like a lamp is all with grid ta hold a coffee pot. Takes a long while ta make coffee. I'll get it started befer dark, least have some coffee fer a spell. Brought one blanket wool, never know mights get cold. I had Kern ta drop me where Jim took me. Told him be back abouts daylight I reckon.

Folks, bouts 10 I turn off that stove. Bouts the time my coffee gets cold. Say about 11 accordin ta my watch. That squeak an wahurr starts, then the light comes out the ground! Then I hear a low zip click zip click zip zip zip click click! Zzzz, zzzz, click! Then a very low voice, I see what look like a very large person then a smaller one. Folks the light made it hard ta tell, whether it were man or woman. The larger one looked ta big ta be human!
The noises it made, scared me, why it sounded like N.O. One! Janet wasn't near as loud as him!

Folks this lasted near half hour, then it got dark. Folks I tried ta sleep after, I got some not much. My thinkin is next time tomorrow I make myself known!

Well might long winded till next time.
