0Hi folks, yep I am back. Y'all been doin good, livin like ya should? Never mind, I know either can't hear ya, or don't want ta answer. So we finish this here story, just a few. Best grab a drink maybe some food. I can wait go on now. Guessin y'all back. So let's get started.

Kern had a look a worry on him. I say no worry, ya may see thins, that could fear ya. No worry I've seen these thins befer, an I came out just fine. Think this set some thins straight fer ya, is all. Besides ya wanted answers, this get thum. Kern just nodded, then say yep ya right.

Folks, we tied the horses off at those boulders. I pushed that button that rang Bee, an we waited. Kern heard the noise, an then the doors opened. He put his hand ta pistol. I touched his arm, say now it's just fine. Told ya be odd. Kern moved his hand away. Bee was lookin straight at us, as she moved up pass the grass. Common, Roger she say, good ta see ya both, as the elevator stopped. Please step on, an we will go to my home below.

Kern blew out some air, then reluctantly stepped on the elevator. Bee say pleased ta see ya again Roger, don't fear this. This is a part of ya, even a part of us all. More so ya, Roger more than ya can even think. Roger just nodded was all he did. Folks, Roger not knowin what this was all abouts. May put more fear in him, than he should have. Folks his, Ma should do the tellin not me.

Bee, told me ta go on in the room across from hers. She needed ta talk ta Roger alone, she would ring fer me after awhile. I say yessum when ya are ready. Well must not been, more than a hour, heard a buzz then Bee say, Common please come in with us, I heard Kern say, Common ya were right.

Bee, smiled an say, ya do have more corn licker? I just laughed, say yep always make sure both flasks are filled, an it's some that good stuff, Roger makes. Roger say I have a flask we a start on mine first. Common sit with us an tell ya what my Pa told me. Always thought his story was a fools journey.

Ya see, Roger say, Pa told me they was people live underground. He say son, they live out at monument rock. Now ya see, he didn't tell me; till he was on his death bed. By that time, I just thought his mind had gone. I couldn't except what I seen as a youngster till, my boys started seein it.

It put the fear in thum, more than I needed. Now just what we gonna tell those, at Fort Sill? He looked at me then Bee, an say Common ya know this is against the Law a seein this. Folks, as ya know it is, one I can not enforce, it just goes against my beliefs. Plus Roger say, ifin she is my Ma. Hell don't want her ta be sentenced ta death fer this.

Folks, my thoughts, were just somethin natural, kinda like out, Yellow Stone ways. Those Geysers that shoot up steam or water. Hell not certain what they do, just heard tell of it. When I mentioned that, Bee say think I can make that happen, with a little help.

Folks, get inta that part later. Bee asks me ta leave again with directions where ta go. Folks, what I saw, well just floored me, but hard it did. That Mutually Assured Destruction, thin put the fear in me! Fred was waitin fer me, he told me all bouts it. Sorry folks, be right back. Beth is callin.

Good y'all still here, sorry Beth needed just a little help.
Nothin major, now where was I? Fred an that Mutually Assured Destruction thin!

Well, Bee sent me ta, the control room, Launch Control what, she called it. Fred was a waitin fer me. He tell me Bee thought I should see this, an she thought Roger need not ta see him till another time. Folks my thinkin is best give Roger a little at a time. Why this stuff still floors me.

Fred say, this is Launch Control. Two people worked here, waitin fer a command to launch they missiles. He explained that this message could be sent, from anywhere in the country or world, fer that matter. He say this message came either by hardwire communication or radio. Folks don't understand either one!

Both had ta confirm the message was real, then they would set, this launch thin inta motion! Folks they was all kinds a thins, big thins like those touchpad thins. Boards with levers an writin on thum. This sign say Our Last Defense an Resort. That put chills inta me, last resort! Lan sakes what a thought make it sound like it is over!

Heard, that sup, sup sup, zip click zip click. Fred say follow me please. Folks I'll stop with sound, while we was walkin down this long hall. I asks that Fred, why make so much noise, when ya move? He say, most my muscle and fat padding an my skin cover is gone. My parts are old. When I was newer ya couldn't hear my parts workin. I say, guess all thins gets old even machines.

We came ta this door! Must been near a foot thick solid steel folks. Fred spun this wheel thin, in the center. Then he pushed the door open. We walked what must been 100 yards or better, another door same as the last. Folks what I saw behind that door! Was the likes a nothin I mean nothin, not even that subway back Tri-City ways. Prepared me fer this!

Folks, they was this thin! Best I can describe it, looked like a cartridge fer my Spencer, but was pointed on top!
It had what look like fins at the bottom 4 of thum! Lan sakes! Must a been near 200 foot tall! Maybe 20 foot round! Had U.S. Air Force on it! What ever that is or was!

Folks, they was steps that spiraled up along side it with a walkway at the top! Fred say, this is a Inter Continental Ballistic Missile, multi warheads. Folks, I was a loss fer words, fer minute maybe two!

Finally I say, dear, might large ain't it. Folks that was an understatement in all honesty! Thin was huge ta say the least! Lan sakes! Fred say, my servos an such won't let me climb those steps. Ya can climb up an see the inside at the top.

Folks, the thought that walkway at the top! Just gave me the shudders! I walked around the bottom lookin at it then up. Folks ifin this thin brought death, it sure made me a bit uneasy. I climbed those steps, folks my fear stayed put. These steps didn't shake nor sway as I climbed thum. Now the top an that walkway, let's just say gave me a bit a nerves.

That walkway moved some, so I grabbed both handrails, moved like a snail, so as not get it ta movin as much! Folks inside, that thin looked like more cartridges with points! Four ta be exact! They was what looked like small pipes inside all over the place. Boxes these pipe thins hooked ta! What looked like a few those touchpads were inside that thin! Folks I could get inside I walked around it, little tight but it could be done.

Wasn't till, I saw what Fred call a movie, lan sakes did I not know, true fear, an what man could do folks! This movie thin was pictures folks, not drawins now real thin ifin this person or people drew that! My they can draw now folks!

When that missile launched, that room was filled with fire an smoke! The rumble was louder than any thunder or cannon! Why it took to movin! Then it was gone, thins still were hot, smoke flowed out that room ta the top! Like a chimney folks! Then it showed the blast folks! Trees near bent ta the ground, then went the other way near ta the ground! Then danced back an forth some!

Homes were gone in seconds one, big ball a fire! The survivors well were burnt skin burnt plum off! Shadows a people were burnt inta the walls folks! These thins could be fired at multiple targets. Just one those missiles could take out four targets! This wasn't Mutually Assured Destruction! This was over kill! Both sides! Could do this folks! Just insanity is all, it was!

Folks, after seein that, I needed a drink, took two hard pulls off that flask folks! Well me an Roger built this system fer Bee. Ta keep strangers away, an she say it should last maybe five years. We hooked inta some kinda natural gas tank in that underground. Fixed it so this gas, would ease out of the dirt. Then lectricty would set it off, it burn fer abouts half hour twenty minutes.

Folks it worked! Now Roger say he would visit Bee twice a week. I had somethin ta tell those at Fort Sill. I think thins a be set right. Lan sakes folks, this all be true now! This weren't no tall tale! Besides who could make this stuff up? Till next time!

Like Common say, who could make that stuff up. Thanks for reading vote make a comment. If you have any ideas for a adventure for Common, just let me know. I'll try and work them in. I have a few stories lined up, but your ideas may make a interesting story. So let me know. Thanks again.
