Disturbed Part II

Hi Folks, take a seat! Please quiet all, we a start now. Little background here, an we a start.

Folks, the alley was near a mile long, just wide nough inside fer two people ta walk. Both ends the tenement doors, were abouts thirty ta twenty feet back from the street end. Most that was business frontage on the street side. No lanterns on either end nor small ones that could hang by the doors. Place would a been real dark, hard ta see the door numbers. Guess people that live here, would just know where they door was. So now let's get started.

Folks, befer I started ta knock on doors, I walked the alley. Plenty a small set backs a fella could hide in an grab her, from behind. Just the noise should a got someones attention. Rangers were at the other end with  the Constables from both sides the city. I say mornin ya done any door knocks ta interview people? Folks they did, I got the interview reports. An say, best start a search of all the places ya have found bodies befer.

Ifin ya find a dead female touch nothin or even move her. Get me an Doc ta look it over first! Remember told ya that from beginnin told all of ya that! I need ta look these over, be in my room ifin ya need me. Have Doc ta come by please. Folks I need ta see it just as the killer left it.

City Ranger say, 5A ya might want ta talk ta thum, befer ya leave. He pointed towards Second Street end of the alley. I nod an say thanks, don't even look at the report. I just walk that way. Folks befer I forgets this alley has smaller crossways two of thum one at halfway in from the Barlow side the fourth the way in from Second.
I tell myself, that I needs ta check those. Could be another way in from those.

Interview 5A Barlow Alley, Mrs Talbot.

I say mornin Mam, Ranger Common Howard, like ta ask ya few questions, ifin ya don't mind? She say just spoke ta Ranger not more than hour ago. Yessum I know Mam just like ta hear it straight from ya. Yar name please, Mam? She say Mary Talbot, Mrs Talbot ifin ya don't mind me askin fer the Mrs. I say no not at all, Mrs Talbot. May I come in? Folks she stepped aside, smiled a touch. We take a seat, I say now tell me what ya saw or heard.

Folks she was very in-depth with what she saw an heard, gave me good information better than even than that City Ranger gots. My thinkin is sometimes just actin like a gentleman a get more than just straight up questions will. So what she told me.

I say when ever ya ready Mrs Talbot, just use yar own words an tell me.

She say, well, first I thought maybe couple Tom cats were at it, outside. Ya know how it sounds like screams sometimes, little noise not much. Then I heard a loud thud like a knock! I asks, was yar husband here?

Ifin ya can call him that! Most times like last night! He was ta drunk ta move! I say well sorry Mam please continue. She say, well I grabs that club, she pointed next ta the door. Opened the door, at first didn't see a thin. Heard a grunt then a tussle, that's when I saw thum. Why it looked Miss Lilly an a man, he had her all grabbed up. Looked like they was gettin ready ta do the deed. Ya know ta make sex, or at least it looked that aways.

Not certain it was, Miss Lilly now, just she had that red hair like she does. I slapped my club against the wall, told thum, ta move on get a room! Ifin they wanted ta make sex, I shooed thum off Ranger. This why I ain't real certain it was Miss Lilly, she didn't speak an could not see her face. I asks what about that fella she was with, what he look like? Oh was the lady wearin a shaw?

She say, they didn't move, so I gots my lamp, folks she pointed at the one at the table we was sittin at. Shined outside towards thum. Young ladies head was pulled inta that fellas shoulder. She was wearin a shaw, not sure, seen Miss Lilly wear one, not sure if it was like hers or not. Could a been though Ranger, thinkin on it some.

The man had straw colored hair, long tied back. His left hand held her head ta his chest. His right was shoved between thum. He wasn't a large man, rather short he wasn't much taller than the young lady. His head was leaned down ta the lady's ear. He didn't look up, or say a word. Told thum ta git, came back inside. Checked after I finished my coffee, they was gone.

I asks, what was the fella wearin, did he have any thin that a make him stand outs?

He had a dark blue or black waistcoat, shirt was brown color dark paints blue or black. Looked just a little over dressed fer this part a town. That is about all I know Ranger. I say thanks tell her, she been a might helpful. Then asks, these cross alleys ya been down thum?

She say, no won't go down those, they just scar me is all.
I nod an show myself out. Folks, my thinkin is, this could a been Lilly an her attacker. I head back towards Barlow Street an that first cross alley.

Folks, I turned left down the first one, I came ta. They was steps on both sides ta get ta the second floor. Rather a tight pass between thum. Place smelled worse than most privy's do. Just about gagged this one ended at wall of another buildin. I crossed Barlow Alley the other side had four sets a steps an it ended with rod iron gate, what looked like a courtyard. Gate wouldn't open, so went ta the next, made a right this time.

This had two sets a steps, it ended with door so I turned fer the other end. The other side one set a steps with walkways outside fer the second floor. I could see another gate, figured I best walk till the end. Folks just ta the left only few feet from that gate, they was a small alley. That is where I found, her I think it's Lilly!

Folks befer I go inta what I saw, I was stunned an knew I needed Doc an some help! I mean like now! Folks I beat on that gate! A fella opened it, I shouted get a walker an a Ranger here, now! He turned quicker than a mad dog!

Folks in no time, a walker showed no Ranger, seems Doc got worried had a walker brin him here. I shouted walker get a Ranger! Doc best come with me! I think he struck, just haven't really looked at it! Wanted ya here ta see it all befer I start move thins an look it over good!
