Folks, hate ta say it, my friend Doc got one over on me.
After that cab took me ta Doc Davis, ya know Docs friend old teacher. The way Doc put it. Folks can tell ya, my head throbbed ta no end. Constant drum, Sam White Hell it hurt like hell! Oh, thanks fer comin back.

Doc Davis, old fella he seemed a might nice. Rather quiet though, didn't jammer on like Doc, seemed ta. Doc looked me over, an say be best ta stay put till mornin. Folks I didn't want ta, but I felt a touch funny. Not really myself at all. Doc say, blow ta the head not a thin ta put off.

Folks, figured stay put till mornin. I know which they headed. They sure ain't stayin in Orleans, nor are they goin ta Saint Louis! Folks just stay with me now, gots my method done figured out. Now what Doc told me about Doc, lan sakes that sounded a might confusin now didn't it. Ok, so this is all Doc Davis knew about this.

Folks, Davis I'll use that ta keep, this simple so no confusion as ta who I am talkin about. He say, Doc wrote him a few year back, about a letter he received from a person. Davis say, this person say in that letter.

They think they have a problem, with they memories. Plus they were intersexed, more female than male, but raised as a male. They wanted ta know, ifin he could help thum. Davis then say, Doc replied. Sayin he would love ta meet with thum, an see ifin he could help. He could meet thum where ever this person wanted.

Davis say, Doc didn't hear back. Folks Doc seemed ta know what was goin on, with Miss Virginia or Fred who ever even this Jacko was. Doc maya  know more, just know it. Folks spent the night over Doc Davis place. Thought that be best, didn't get much sleep. Was a might hungry, Davis got me some breakfast an coffee.

Folks, don't know ifin it was that blow ta the head? Maybe I just got my mind in the right direction. Atlanta folks, those two! That were married, left thum out my report. Sam White Hell! Why they was Ted an Miss Virginia! Lan sakes, by golly they was! When I saw Ted folks, after the blame fog cleared away. It was Ted an her in Atlanta! Folks, did me an Norm, let this killer walk away scot free? Lan sakes we maya blown this ta hell!

Davis say, he read over Docs notes, folks Doc didn't tell me a few thins. He did leave an explanation as ta why, tell that later. This is what Davis told me.

Seems Doc, thought Miss Virginia was related some how ta these murders. This he came ta after, my trip ta Dauphin Island. He believes, Fred an Virginia are one in the same. Folks he tell me he wasn't sure a this, he thought maybe this Jacko was one in the same, as thum.
So folks Doc thought all three maybe the same person!

Ted was some way tied ta thum, maybe he was the one posin the bodies, like they was sleepin. Ted my have  sexual ties ta thum, or more like a brotherly love. Doc say he wasn't certain on this. Folks I can not tell ya, my mind completely understands this at all. Three people in the same body? This well goes beyond my thoughts!

Davis thinks, Doc maybe involved in some way. He say Doc knew more than most on the mind an internal medicine. He just seemed ta know, what lay inside the body, more than even himself at times. He say Doc befer he turned ta science a the mind, he was one the bests Surgeons in the Lands. Folks I don't think Doc could do the killin, but could he be the one explorin the insides?

Davis say, Doc didn't want ta give me his thoughts a this till he could tie this all tagether. Davis tell me Doc might just be doin his best also ta stop the killin. Then he say, Atlanta is your key, they have a Croft Institute of Medicine in Atlanta, Doc is well known there. Folks my gut an mind tell me Atlanta, even the killer referenced Atlanta. Ifin Doc just wanted ta stop the killin then why he betray me like that! Davis also say I best not go at this alone, best take a Ranger I can trust.

Folks only a few Rangers I trust, with my backside. They ain't around. Well I'll go it alone till find one, I can trust.
I packed up even took Docs stuff, never know may need it. Folks it take me 15 days ta get ta Atlanta. Figure I arrive about the same time as thum, hell carriage with at least one hostage. May take touch longer.

I rode hard first two days, well after dark. Folks felt like I was bein followed inta the second evenin. The hairs back my neck were standin, had that tingle back my neck also. The one ya get, when ya know they is someone watchin ya, an gettin close ta ya! Folks I slid my Sharps out the saddle holster! Gently tugged on the reins an slid off my horse! Say easy horse, as I nudged him sideways fer cover. I peered over top the saddle.

Folks sun what was left it was just about pass the horizon, ta my face I searched ta my rear! I could just see a rider, clearin the small rise ta the south and west. Folks could not tell, who it was as of yet. I say horse best relax stay put now. Might far off ta tell they friend or foe.
Folks I cocked my Sharps, an watched as the rider came closer! I whispered horse easy now, easy don't move ya blame critter! I shouted who ya be! Ranger Howard here! Folks that is when I seen it was a Shield, comin at me! That Shield yelled back Maggie, Daughter a Margaret! Sam White hell! That Shield from Orleans!

I stepped from my horse looked over the pack horse, as she climbed off her horse. She say Ranger, think I just ride along with ya, need ta avenge a murder of a Shield. Besides ya may need my help, never know. Folks I say Maggie best head back, don't need a vengeance rider with me. Need one that work through the Law.

Folks, her look she gave me, well, it was just death it's self! Ya can't deny me my right! Folks her hand was on her sword! Her eyes narrowed, say taday is a good day ta die! Honor! Honor Ranger! Saber, Ranger yar saber! Prepare ta die! Shit fire an apple butter folks! Take on a Shield with a saber? No blame way!

Folks I stepped back some, hold on now Maggie! No need ta fight ta the death over this! Folks Maggie always was a touch quick-tempered! Believe me on that one! Maggie shouted, saber! I fear not ya or death! I came inta the world covered in blood an screamin! I can leave that way! Folks she meant every word, I seen the fields lined with nude Shield dead, ya couldn't walk with out steppin on thum. When they know they may well die, they fight with no clothes on only they weapon belts on, all other stuff is stacked on the line.

Folks these ladies a love a child like any mother, but a die with Honor, and never give in till death! I tell her I yield, ta ya, but ya must work through the Law. Can ya do that? Folks she just nodded at me, say that I will do! The penalty shall be carried out be me! That is my right!
Folks I tell her, ifin the killer gets the death penalty, that is yar right. Then I say, plan on another ten mile fer the day, think we best ride. Folks think we stop here, till next time. Ifin they is one.

Thanks for returning, vote leave a comment please. So have you managed to follow the clues? Is it Doc maybe Fred or Virginia? Maybe Fred and Virginia are the same person, Jacko! Is Ted just ac pawn or willing part of it?
Take care all.
