"wanna grab a bite to eat
before i head to practice?"

atsumu turned to you as soon as lecture
came to an end with a bright smile on his
face.

you couldn't help but return the smile and
laugh a bit, his obvious excitement a bit
contagious.

he was quick to tell you that he and sakusa
made up, his mood completely lifting and
his aura just overall brighter. he was glad
to be on good terms with one of his best
friends again and was able to see the
situation sakusa and suzume were in in a
bit of a different light.

you were glad he was feeling lighter depsite
yourself feeling more than worried about
suzume; but, you were sure she was going
to be okay.

"i don't mind something on
the smaller side."

you turned away, beginning to pack your
things.

"i'm heading out somewhere
later and probably eating out
so i don't wanna spoil my
appetite."

atsumu took your bag from you to hurry
to process and left you to carry your
[laptop/tablet] along with your textbook
for the class and a notebook.

the two of you followed the flow of traffic
out of the lecture hall.

"where ya headed?"

miya atsumu
"dontcha got work today?"

"usually, yup!"

"but i switched shifts with
someone to watch nikou's
swim meet today."

atsumu turned to you almost immediately,
his expression a bit hard to read.

if anything he looked confused.

miya atsumu
"today?"

you nodded slowly.

"yes?"

he raised his brows then turned away,
nodding along.

miya atsumu
"oh, cool."

if he was honest, he wasn't entirely sure
what to feel. he was happy you were going
out and having fun instead of working but
a part of him kinda wished that you were
working instead.

he brushed off the feeling, shrugging to
himself and reminding him that these
deeper feelingsㅡthe thought of being
in a relationshipㅡwasn't something he
wanted to deal with much anymore.

the two of you then made your way to the
station to head out into the busier parts of
the city to grab a bite.

you sat patiently on one of the benches in
the engineering building, waiting for nikou
as his class had just finished.

the plan was to meet here, him to drive to
where his swim meet was, watch the swim
meet and then eat out at an izakaya (unless,
of course, you had something else in mind).
