when atsumu came out of his room with his
own two pillows and a blanket, you looked
at him with confusion.

"what... are you doing?"

atsumu let out a small sigh and tossed
his pillows to you which you barely
managed to catch.

he plopped himself beside you on the couch,
which wasn't pulled out into a bed just yet,
and turned his back to you so he could lean
back and use you as a cushion.

you laughed, trying to push him off but it
was hard with his pillows in your arms.

"atsumu, get off."

"you're so heavyyy."

atsumu laughed.

"yeah this is what 100%
muscle feels like."

you laughed and pushed him one last time
with much more force which eventually got
him to sit properly.

he took one pillow from you and hugged it,
resting his chin on it and making himself
comfortable as he sat.

"i thought you were tired?"

"you gonna stay up with me
and suzume for girl talk once
she and sakusa finish their
talk?"

atsumu chuckled and shook his head,
glancing at you with his brows raised.

miya atsumu
"about that."

you tilted your head, confused with his
reaction.

miya atsumu
"ya ever get those moments
where yer absolutely fine but
then someone asks ya to tell
'em what the hell's botherin'
ya because it's so obvious
that somethin's up?"

your eyes darted around the living room
for a moment before you slowly nodded.

atsumu hummed.

miya atsumu
"well, yeah, suzume's that kind
of personㅡends up cryin' 'er
lil heart out and omi went
and got 'er to tell 'im what
happened at work today all
because he felt she wasn't
okay."

your expression twisted and your chest
tightened, guilt immediately rushing
over you as you realized that you didn't
catch any of suzume's feelings.

she was fine when you got here, smiling
brightly at you and even cracking jokes
like normal. you never expected her day
to have been bad.

miya atsumu
"hey, it ain't yer fault, ya
know?"

atsumu set the pillow he was hugging
down onto his lap and placed a hand
on the back of your head.

miya atsumu
"i never knew she had a bad
day until omi sent me a text
tellin' me he made suzume
cry and now he doesn't want
her to sleep without him."

you pouted a bit.

"atsumuㅡ"

miya atsumu
"so that's why i'm 'ere!"
