miya atsumu
"y/n! opposite hitter! wait
noㅡi mean yer right side
hitter!!"

you let out a small squeal and ran towards
the ball, positioning yourself underneath it to
set it backwards to hinata who had matched
his pace with yours.

he was up in the air as the ball left your fingers
but wasn't able to match up entirely.

even still, he made things work by moving to
bump the ball up with his left hand.

the ball went up and over the net as the boys
on the other side also didn't match their jump
to your set.

of course suzume dove for the ball to save it,
bringing it back to the air for maya to set one
of her hitters up.

it was quick since the ball wasn't brought too
high up and before you knew it, the ball was
smacked straight down by your side and then
suna was hovering over you like a giant wall.

a shiver ran down your spine and you let out
a shaky breath as you watched the ball bounce
away.

miya atsumu
"you didn't need to kill the ball
like that, dude! don't scare 'er
like that!"

you took a step away from suna and avoided
his stare which you didn't know how to interpret.

hinata shouyou
"that set was alright, y/n-san!"

"aaahhh? i don't... think so,
hinata."

he gave you a small pout, hand gentle against
your back.

miya atsumu
"it was fine, y/n, suna's just
a prick."

you let out a small sigh and nodded, shyly
glancing at suna's direction who wasn't
standing where he was before but instead
was being scolded by both maya and suzume
for "being so extra".

koizumi suzume
"this isn't a real game!! you
don't gotta stand so close
to the net and glare like that
you bean pole!!"

tachibana maya
"just 'cause you're 6 feet
tall?!"

suna rintarou
"h-hey! hey okay! okay! it
was just a joke! damn!"

miya osamu
"alright, alright, let's tone
it down."

the girls let suna go and glared at him which he
shuddered at.

suna rintarou
"jeez, women are scary."

the game continued on and suna had taken his
gameplay down a notch when he was up in the
front with you. he did his best not to treat your
higher sets like a party ball or block you out too
much.

when you were in the back, atsumu made the
extra effort to guide you when he could but he
was also playing as a setter which didn't give
him much freedom.

the game ended with your team losing and
then a break was called. of course some of
the boys didn't care for breaks and started
yet another game.

you sat on the floor by the benches with maya
and suzume while sakusa sat on the bench with
suna on his other side. kenma decided to take
a break too but chose to isolate himself with his
nintendo switch, which you respected.
