koizumi suzume
“is tsumu okay?”
sakusa looked up from his phone, raised
his brows and thought for a moment. he
looked around the cafe they were seated
in as he thought before looking back at
his girlfriend.
he then pursed his lips and shrugged,
setting his phone down and leaning
forward in his chair to grab his coffee.
“probably not.”
he took an unbothered sip from his hot
drink and his girlfriend laughed.
koizumi suzume
“jeez, kiyo, you could be a
little more sympathetic to
your best friend.”
she cupped her drink and scrunched her
nose, a smile on her face.
koizumi suzume
“i feel bad for atsumu, i do,
but it wasn’t like y/n was
going to wait for forever, you
know?”
koizumi suzume
“and it wasn’t like atsumu
told her about any of his feelings.”
koizumi suzume
“to her, they were just platonically
close.”
sakusa hummed.
“yeah.”
he frowned a bit.
“but a part of me wants atsumu
to be happy.”
“maybe if he had more time…”
koizumi suzume
“i know.”
koizumi suzume
“i wanted both of them to end
up together and be happy, but
i mean, things don’t happen
just because you want them to.”
she sat a bit straighter.
koizumi suzume
“well, i guess for when it comes
to other peoples’ lives.”
she then gave her boyfriend a cheesy grin.
koizumi suzume
“i wanted us to happen.”
sakusa rolled his eyes and turned away,
lifting his mask over his face unapologetically
to hide his smile. he focused on whatever
was happening outside instead of his girlfriend.
suzume could still see the rising pinkish hue
on his cheeks and ears though.
“shut up you cheeseball.”
she laughed.
but her point was clear.
if atsumu wanted it, he should have been
much clearer with his feelings.
sakusa was aware of the many times atsumu
brushed off his feelings or made claims that
he wasn’t interested in a relationship or that
relationships were scary. how else would this
be interpreted as but being uninterested? how
were you supposed to understand the nuance
of atsumu’s words especially if it was over
text or spoken in the typical nonchalant tone
atsumu had.
sakusa couldn’t blame you for being left to
guess or assume.
and it wasn’t anyone else’s responsibility but
atsumu’s to be clear or let you know about
his feelings.
