ZOE'S POV
Today Aunt Julia decided to take us to Hartbeesport dam and to other game reserves around. North West province is full of game reserves, multiple mountains and mines. This place is extremely beautiful though my whole body is shivering; I'm scared to get on the boat.
"Zoe come to aunty I'll hold your hand." Aunt Julia teases, offering to hold my hands so I'll be relaxed. "I'm so scared of water, what if I fall off." I mutter under my breath, still standing statue-still alongside the boat while my cousins and aunt are already seated on the boat. "You won't" Glen tries to convince me, how convenient can he be! And in a blink of an eye I feel Camilla's hand dragging me towards the boat.
"Camilla wait!" I yell. "Here, sit next to your aunt so he'll hold your hand." Camilla mocks playfully and I roll my eyes at her as they all laugh quietly. The boat pulls off instantly as I close my eyes. I feel it moving faster now than it was a few seconds ago. Aunt's hand grips mine as I slowly open my eyes to meet Camilla playing with my phone and Glen pulling out a cigarette and lighter from his pocket to smoke.
Before I know it, I feel my body moving with the wind as aunt attempts to throw me on the water "Ahhhh!" I scream so loud that it even scared the birds. They all burst out laughter's at me. "Got that on camera?" Aunt asks Camilla. "Got it" she replies in between her laughter. I place my hand on my chest to feel if my heart still beats, my heart rate quickens, with my breathing getting faster and heavier as aunt did the unexpected!
"Aunty how could you do that? I would have fallen off the boat and die." I manage to say, still trying to catch my breathing rate. "Is okay baby at least it didn't happen." Aunt cups my cheeks playfully. "So this was your plan all along?" I trail off. "Yes I'm sure now you're brave." Glen answers as he exhales the smoke of cigarette. "Well thank you." I sarcastically say. "I pray I never catch the coloured smoking syndrome." I try to provoke him but he seems unaffected by my statement. He simply chuckles and continues smoking.
"Check this out. Zoe looks horrible." Camilla says as she shows Glen who's seated next to him. Glen laughs so hard with his eyes on my phone. Camilla then hands the phone to aunt and I so we'll see. Aunt Julia laughs immediately and I can't stand the fact that it's actually funny, I laugh too. "At least she's still cute though." Aunt compliments. "Yeah" Camilla replies as she's shoving in a hot dog in her mouth. "Guys I'm hungry don't mind me. Here's food." She hands the cooler box to us and we all have ourselves some hotdogs with fizzy drinks.
"So Zoe who bought you an iPhone cause last time I remember you were using a Samsung phone?" Glen inquires. "Are you really out of questions? Obviously her parents did." Camilla quickly comes to my defence as I was out of words. I offer her an appreciative smile and she winks her eye at me. "You all have iPhones so why wouldn't I have one too?" I imply with a smirk on my face. "Enough about iPhones, let's take pictures for memories." Camilla suggests. "Agree" aunt Julia nods, drifting her attention away from her phone.
With that said we take enough snaps and unapologetically enjoy every moment of this trip. I'm over the moon with being here forgetting that earlier on I was scared of climbing on the boat and this whole place's cool breeze does it for me. We carry on with the road trips to other game reserves near us and take snaps each time. This phone takes really good pictures gosh!
