ZOE'S POV
The past week has been my worst, I've been breaking down but I'm thankful for Carl. He's been my copying system and the book he brought me has been of great assistant through my healing process. I know it's going to take a lot of time for me to heal completely but one step at a time I'll be okay, that's what I tell myself at least. Each and every year at school they organise a school camp for the seniors at the end of the year to assist at writing their final exams. Now it's time for me to attend the school camp for my final exams purposes which will contribute eighty percent on my school work and to be honest I am too nervous.
"Zoe look at me" Carl calls, lifting up my chin to face him. "You'll do fine, you'll be okay." He adds. "I don't know about that Carl. I mean my June results dropped so badly and my preliminary-" I sigh. "Don't mind the past. Focus on now. All those exams were for preparing you for the final exams, these are the ones which will determine whether you pass or not and I believe you'll do great." The faith in his voice and gleaming eyes is evident. "Okay, okay I'll do this. I will pass my exams well." I sigh again. "Believe in yourself. I believe in you. Just focus on you and your studies only." He advices and I nod "Thank you Carl. What will I be if I didn't have you by my side." I acknowledge him and offer a hug, already feeling emotional by his warmth.
"Let's go it's time Zoe." Mom says, coming from my room with the last package of my stuff, going to put it in the boot of her car. I break the hug with Carl and sigh. "You'll be fine baby. We believe in you." Mom remarks, patting my shoulder. "I'll try and do my best." I say. "You'll do your best." Carl rephrases my statement. "I will" I nod with a smile and we leave for school. Mom and Carl drop me at the school and I feel like crying. "Two months without talking to you guys. I'll go crazy." I say, feeling sad. "Two months is short, it's going to be worth it." Mom says. "Why does it feels like you getting rid of me." I joke, offering her a suspicious look and they both laugh with Carl.
"Carl thank you once again, for everything. Do well when you return back to varsity too." I tell him, holding his hands and he kisses my forehead causing me to blush "Anytime. Thanks too." Mom clears her throat and we stop our little moment and smile at her. After our goodbyes, they depart and I feel sad, not so sad though because my friends appear and we all embrace in a group hug. "I'll be seeing your annoying faces for the whole of two months." I joke, rolling my eyes at them. "As if we are pleased to see yours." Dave jokes and I offer him a punch playfully.

Two months have passed and it felt shorter than I actually imagined it to be or it is because I was too occupied with studying to even feel it. I was under too much pressure with myself and at some point it helped me because I feel like I've written all my exams well. Today is our last day as seniors and we were writing our last paper which was the English paper, compulsory for all of us. We all head out of the hall running outside to celebrate with our question papers in hand, screaming like crazy and some pupils throwing the question papers in the air.
"I can't believe we are done with school!" Samantha screams and Dave close his ears at the noise caused by Samantha. Linda and I simply jump like fools. "Babe you are acting crazy too just for finishing school." Dave says, shaking his head at Linda. "School is exhausting, of course I am." Linda whoops and I'm frozen as I feel cold water all over my body. When I look around a majority of our school mates are throwing water balloons on each other and my friends begin running, I join along too to play the game which I find childish yet exciting.
Later on the day parents come to fetch their kids from the school camp and I spot my dad's car. Well at least I thought so...wait...that number plate is definitely my dad's car. It's an Audi Q3 TSI, charcoal colour. I stare at it precisely and my mom is the first to come out of the passenger's seat, followed by my dad from the driver's seat. I can't help the excitement I feel within me to see both my parents fetching me on this important day. I run towards them to offer hugs. It's just so ironic and hilarious that mom and Carl dropped me in this place and now I'm being fetched by mom and dad, instead of Carl.
