ZOE'S POV

THE WEEKEND

Another boring weekend for me again; it's a Saturday and all I did was to watch some few movies from Netflix and read short stories about love blah blah..... Sammy stays six houses away from mine but I wasn't in the mood for her company.

"Zoe can you please go buy me some milk from the shops, I'm  busy baking and I wasn't aware I've ran out." My mom asks as she is standing on my doorway. I'm not a depressed teenager; I just prefer staying in my room most of the time. "Sure mom, no problem." I reply to my lovely mom with a smile on my face. She hands me the money for the milk but knowing her, she ends up writing a list of other things she needs.

'Needs really?'

Or should I say want. "Don't take all your time, please try to hurry up as it is getting late." I give her my best stare, like seriously late at only 17:03pm when I check the time on my phone. Anyway I don't blame her; this town is somehow full of junkies.

Fifteen minutes later I arrive at the stores, a small shopping center. I don't bother to waste any time, I buy all the groceries from the list. "Plastic?" The cashier asks. "Yes please." I reply to her. I gather all the groceries in one plastic then head out from the store.

Just as I step out from the store, I'm distracted by a very charming and handsome boy leaning on the wall. I scrutinize him as he's unaware.  He's got black hair falling off on his one sided eye, perfectly shaped lips, a long nose, skinny and tall, he's not that much skinny though.

I accidentally drop my plastic bag and continue staring at him. Wait! What's happening? Am I dreaming or have I gone insane? No normal person can stare another for that long. He notices my embarrassing actions after some few minutes. He looks at me; still standing next to him speechless.

MIKE'S POV

Just as I'm busy smoking my blunt and in my thoughts I'm disturbed by a dropping sound of something beside me. It takes me some few seconds to look around. As I inhale my last blunt I see a plastic bag down beside me, I slowly move my eyes up to see this young beautiful girl standing next to me as if she has seen a ghost. Regardless of her shocked expression she's still beautiful, although I have no idea what she's staring at.

"Hi." Is all I manage to say at this very moment? Am I nervous of a little girl? "Hello." She responds with a crooked smile. I take it she is shy or maybe I scared her. "My name is Mike Brown." I reach for her hand as she does the same too. "I'm Zoe... Zoe Jackson." She responds. "Can I help you with the plastic bag you accidentally dropped?"

I ask her with a smile to calm her nerves. I guess it worked since she is also joining along smiling. Wow she's even more beautiful when she smiles showing her one sided dimple. "Yes please." She responds in a more kind way. "I'm so sorry for my behavior; I don't know why I behaved like that. It was rude of me to stare like that, I really apologize." Humor is clear in her voice.

"Stop apologising it's not like you killed someone." I tease her. She simply smiles. "So can I accompany you since it's getting late?" I ask with concern. "I can walk myself but thanks for the offer though."

"I insist, I will blame myself if anything was to happen to you and I won't take no for an answer." I tell this young good girl beside me, I can tell by her shyness and the way she's dressed that she is a good girl unlike the hoes from this hood that I've fucked most of them.

I help her carry her plastic bag and we begin to walk all the way to her home. We then have an amazing conversation; she asks which side of the town I stay by. I tell her not far from the shopping center, about five minutes from there. She's surprised by my response.

"I'm sorry I had you walking all this distance to my house." She apologies again. Oh gosh! "It's no big deal really, I wouldn't let a beautiful girl like you walking all alone at this time." She says her goodbyes and thanks me as she assures she's near her home.

I begin to walk away, as I laugh at what I just did when she wasn't even aware. I borrowed her phone to check the time then stall her contacts. I had to do it though; I know she wouldn't have given them to me if I may have asked for them.
