ZOE'S POV
All the way from Mpumalanga to North West province I've been sleeping considering that it's really far about a four hours fifteen minutes' drive plus I really needed this nap since I haven't slept the past two days. "Wake up." Aunt Julia jiggles my body a bit while driving, I force myself to open my eyes.
"Welcome to North West." She says and I instantly fix my gesture to gaze outside the window. "Wow! North West is really the true beauty of nature." I acknowledge, locking my eyes into this beautiful scenery. "Indeed it is." Aunt Julia simply replies with a wide grin plastering her gorgeous face.
"What is this place?" I inquire with my eyes not leaving the gaze outside the window. "Hartbeesport sweetie, we still have enough days to come to all this places." She tells me, leaving my jaw dropped. "Really Auntie?" I imply happily and place kisses on her cheek. "If we crush we won't be able to come." She jokes, implying the fact that I'm disturbing her driving. "Sorry" I say then lean back on my seat, still excited.
After some few minutes we finally arrive at the city of Rustenburg. I get out and inhale the cool breeze, opening my arms widely as I enjoy the vibe already. I'm going to love it here! As I'm still enjoying the moment while closing my eyes I feel a hot slap on my cheek.
"Bitch stop dreaming." I open my eyes furiously "Camilla!" I holler excitedly forgetting the fact that she just slapped me. We embrace into a long tight hug. "Okay, okay break it up and bring the bags." Aunt Julia states as she heads towards the house. "We're having some cousin reunion moment mommy." Camilla responds to her.
We break our hug and take the bags inside. Aunt Julia is rich; yes she's the rich aunt. Her house is big enough for her and my two cousins which are her kids.
"Where's Glen?" I inquire Camilla. "He went out to his friend's house." She replies. "Alright" I simply say. "Girls I'm heading out to buy dinner." Aunt informs us. "We have Uber Eats for a reason mom." Camilla says and rolls her eyes. "Am I not supposed to get some fresh air because of the internet?" Aunt Julia sarcastically implies. "Whatever mom." Camilla shrugs her shoulders
Aunt and her kids have a really good relationship I can say. Immediately after aunt departs the living room Camilla talks "Cuz are you Okay?" She asks. "Yeah I'm fine, I'm even excited to see you." I reply to her. She adjusts her gesture to face me, her facial expression changing to sympathy as she places her hand over my shoulder. "I mean are you okay? With your ass all over the social media." She emphasises and I instantly act up in amazement.
"If you know that means aunty knows too." My heart beat increases "but how come she never said a word about it in the car." I trail off in confusion. "Relax, she doesn't know." Camilla assures me. "But you know all the way from Nelspruit to Rustenburg." "That's Twitter for you." She remarks. "I'm sure they're wrapping my ass up." I say, averting my gaze towards the floor. "They are on this Samantha girl and the guy. Most people are siding with you in fact tell me everything." She insists. "I really don't want to talk about it." I state.
"Even to your favourite cousin?" She pleas with her eyes. "Fine" I say and begin my story. I tell her each and every detail of it. Leaving her jaw dropped after I'm done. "What? Who is this Samantha girl?" She inquires. "My best friend, well used to be." I trail off and correct myself. "The one who lives like a few blocks from your house?" "Yes that one." I manage to say, feeling the pain I felt from that night. "That's hectic bro, your childhood friend. I have to come over that side and beat her ass up to a pulp." Camilla says with anger.
"It's okay I'll just let it go." I tell her. "If she tries hurting you in any way, even steeping on your toe just let me know so I'll show up." She says seriously. "Oh cuzy" I smile at her. "I'm serious" "I will" I simply nod for the argument to be over. Camilla never really behaved girly since she was young. She's all beautiful but she prefers acting tough like boys and she also wears some oversized t-shirts hip hop swag most of the time.
"Whose ass are you gonna beat into a pulp?" Glen questions as he enters the living room. "Were you eavesdropping on our conversation?" Camilla furiously asks Glen. "Not interested I overheard." Glen replies blankly then shifts his eyes to me. "Hey cuz" he greets, moving towards my direction and offers a hug.
"Good to see you're still handsome." I say and he blushes. "Don't start." He smiles. "Still can't handle compliments even now?" I tease him. "Hey show respect to adults." He tries to pull up a serious face then we both laugh at the same time. "So whose ass is going to be beaten up?" He brings up the question again as he takes a seat. "This Mike guy he is Zoe's boyfriend. He played her along with Samantha her former best friend." Camilla spills out the truth just like that, leaving my jaw dropped instantly.
"Zoe has a boyfriend?" Glen surprisingly asks. "Yeah the guy is doing his senior year and he played my cousin." "Nobody plays any of my siblings and get away with it." Glen speaks, offering me a serious look "And Zoe you're too young for all of that." He finishes off. "I know and I've learned from my mistakes, from now onwards I'm no more dating until well only God knows. Can we please just drop the topic and catch up." I request blankly and they nod.
"Yeah let me go and fetch the hookah, so Zoe can distress." Camilla says, already walking away. "Zoe can't have much of that she's young and you too being eighteen doesn't mean you should overdo it." Glen commands. "Blah blah blah." Camilla mocks over the passage. She comes back with the hookah and we chill outside, smoking it while listening to music on the connect Bluetooth speaker. The hookah flavour hit my nostrils and I enjoy its fragrance.
