ZOE'S POV
I'm at church and I still can't get my mind off Mike, even when the pastor is preaching I just can't stop thinking about him. My phone pops up a message, causing me to frighten a bit. I quickly take it out from my handbag and read the text. 'I'm sorry babe, something came up urgently. I'm leaving for college already' the message causes me to frown but quickly rearrange my features before replying with sad emojis 'So quick? Travel safe'
I find my mom staring at me like she could take the life out of me. She hates it by all her heart to witness a person not paying attention at church, I then do the right thing which is putting the phone on silent and drifting back my attention to the pastor on pulpit.

Yesterday night Mike and I were indulged in one of our long phone calls. I told him I was sad about his departure without saying goodbye and he apologised for that, giving me the reason why he had to leave so fast, which was related to his college work and an upcoming group assignment.
Today is a Monday morning, one of my hyped up days. Most people hate Mondays but as for me it's the complete opposite. "Nice to see you guys." I yell, squeezing my body in between Linda and Dave. "I don't get why you have to be hyped up on a Monday morning." Dave remarks with a puzzled expression plastered on his face. "There has to be a reason for that hyped up energy." Linda comments with a smirk and a beam overshadows my features before replying "Well who knows" I say dramatically looking over my shoulders.
"Okay it's pretty clear I am left behind, what's up?" Dave queries, his blue eyes moving between Linda and I. "There's so much you don't know, you'll catch up later." I playfully say and funny enough the bell rings after my statement. "Well blame the bell." I remark already walking to class. "Are you coming?" Linda questions Dave as she follows suite. "I'm right behind you." Dave answers, his eyes on Linda as she walks. If I didn't know better I'd say Dave is into Linda too or my brain is moving too fast? Dave immediately rearranges his features as he witnesses my gaze on him, finally walking to class too. I quickly face back on my way, feigning ignorance.
The lessons were okay until now; break time as my eyes spot a familiar figure approaching towards our direction. Sammy makes her presence known when she finally arrives by my earshot. "It must be nice being you hey." She begins firmly. "What are you talking about?" I ask holding my ground firmly too. "How does it feel like seeing my life on pause while you continue with yours huh?" She asks, her eyes blazing in furry and causing me to snicker. "Last time I checked I was not owning a remote control to someone's life." I scoff.
"Zoe we are too old for this, why can't we put the past behind us and carry on with life." She suggests with a thick tone, feeling my rage increases and making me to react by standing up and moving closer to her face. "See that's the problem with you, you are suggesting of what should be done instead of fixing it." I backfire. "Whoa guys, whatever is going on just stop it." Dave says, now standing in his feet too. I tilt my head in his direction "Stay out of this Dave." I say and he raises his hands in defeat, moving backwards by two steps.
"Fine Zoe be like that." Samantha bores her eyes directly into my skull before taking retreating steps and causing me to sigh dejectedly. In a blink of an eye Samantha retaliates, I was expecting that really. I know she never gives up on an argument that simple without talking her chest off. "It's just so funny how you be going out on dates with Mike while you cannot even accept my apology as if I'm the only one at fault." Sammy's attack leaves me with a dumbfounded expression.
