ZOE'S POV
Now we are in our second term of the year and I'm still intending to get more good marks just like the first term. I'm wearing my happy smile as usual especially on my first day of the week. "So we are not going to talk about what happened at the cinema?" Sammy voices out to us and I scan my eyes between Dave and Linda. "Nothing happened let's just focus on things for this term." Dave says in a dismissive tone and Linda walks away from us. I would have done the same too if I were her.
"Dude you've hurt her feelings." I remark and Sammy comments "Yeah that wasn't cool. Just admit you like her than acting like a jerk." "Can we be friends like before? Can't you guys see that this could ruin our friendship." He says and we comment no more.
MIKE'S POV
I scroll through my gallery, looking at photos of Zoe and I which we took during the holidays and the ones I took of her while she was unaware. She looks adorable; I think she's getting me falling into deep to her. I'm laying on my bed as I'm now thinking of her and smiling to myself. I decide to send her the pictures where she was unaware. I send them with the text too saying 'you look so adorable, i miss you.' 'Mike! Would you stop taking me unaware pictures?' I receive her message within a minute along with a blushing emoji. 'I miss you too.' A second message pops from her, with a frowning emoji causing me to smile.
Mbali barges into my room without knocking. "Can we respect each other's privacy." I imply nonchalantly to her. "I texted you and you never replied but you're on your phone right now." She points to my phone, speaking with a bit of anger. "My phone, you can repeat that again." I deadpan. "For once stop being a jerk. I needed to talk to you about something important." She trails off. "I guess you can talk since you are here." I imply; she begins acting strange. "What's up Mbali?" I query, as her acting now calls for my attention. "Mike, I'm pregnant." I widen my eyes at her in shock of her statement. "Who's the father?" "It's obviously you, why would I bother telling you if you are not the father?" She replies with anger.
"No it can't be me. We've been using protection though and we haven't been intimate for a while now." I point out as I'm now moving around. "It takes a day making a baby Mike, seconds even." She scoffs. "No! Are you sure I'm the father?" I ask, massaging my temple. "You know what? I can't stand you throwing insults at me. I'm going to terminate this baby." Mbali states with a high voice, with her retreating back moving towards the door. "Wait!" I run after her and grab her hand. "Look I'm sorry okay. Just don't abort the baby, I'm just being caught off guard right now." I say to her and she's emotional now. Great! First sign of being pregnant, be emotional.
My phone beeps up a message and I get access to it, it's from Zoe. 'Hello, are you still there?' Shit! What am I going to tell Zoe? I can't afford to hurt her even more. I massage my temple again, feeling the pressure being too much on me now. "What's wrong?" Mbali asks, scrutinizing my eyes. "Remember telling you I have a girlfriend before I left for the holidays?" I begin softly, tilting my head to face her. "We have to make sure she doesn't find out about this please." I add and she strikes my chest. "What do I look like to you huh? Some rubbish you could use then toss over the bin." Mbali begins acting psycho as I try holding her hands. Second sign of being pregnant, act psycho. I mean after asking her so nicely, why would she act so bitchy?
"But you knew I had a girlfriend." I state. "Hello!" She waves her hand on my face. "You only informed me last month." She says, her words calling for my attention. "Wait...how many months are you?" I query in confusion. "Three months now" she replies. I massage my temple, damn! I keep on doing this. "You keep on forgetting the first time we were 'getting to know each other' you were hitting it raw." She uses her fingers for quotation marks, causing my face to form into a disgusted look. I didn't know she was this psycho. "Fine look, I get it okay. Can we just keep a low profile about this for now as I try to come up with a good decision about the situation." I facepalm myself as I request. "Okay" she nods and walks towards the door. "And also reply to my messages, as a pregnant woman I get cravings a lot." She smirks, leaving my room. Third sign of a pregnant woman; cravings.
"Fuck!" I throw the pillow angrily after she departs. "What have I gotten myself into?" I say to myself, massaging my temple for the hundredth time today. I spend the rest of the day thinking so hard about the situation. I finally come up with a conclusion which is breaking up with Zoe for her own sake. I can't keep on hurting her more, she deserves better. This is a hard decision for me to take as I am now too deep into her than ever before. I grab my phone and send her a text. 'I'm coming over this weekend; I need to talk to you urgently.' I send it and continue staring at the ceiling as I drift away into my thoughts again.
It's better for me to do this in person than over the phone although I still don't have a concrete excuse of breaking up with her. Zoe replies to my text 'Alright...' she took about three minutes to reply. I bet she's on her sleep already as it is too late about 23:45pm.

MIKE'S POV
It's already the weekend and I have sent Zoe a text of where we will be meeting, which is the shopping centre where we first met. She approaches to my car; I have park by a spot where there are less people. She knocks by the passenger's window and I take a deep breath before unlocking the door and stepping out. I come by her side where she's standing. She offers me a hug as she's happy to see me. I embrace to it uncomfortably, knowing very well that I'm about to break her heart. "So what's so urgent?" She queries after breaking the hug. "Good to see you too." I say, trying to soften myself up. Zoe simply smiles "I'm curious to know Mike." She says impatiently.
"Remember this place?" I say, darting my eyes around. "Yeah...the shopping centre." She replies, uncertainty in her voice. "Not just the shopping centre, where we first met." I state, getting hold of her hands. She blushes shyly "Oh yeah, you mean where I embarrassed myself as I was captivated by you." She releases a soft laughter, taking back her memory to that day. "However you put it, that was the day I saw the most beautiful girl." I imply and her cheeks aflame more as our hands are intertwined.
"You can be sweet sometimes. So you bought me here to remind me of that day." She implies with a grin on her face while I remember the real reason why I'm here. I clear my throat uncomfortably. "What's wrong Mike?" She queries, I bet she noticed my mixed emotions. "I love you Zoe, you make me know what the meaning of love is. You help me view myself as a different person too, thank you for everything." I honestly tell her. She hugs me "I love you Mike. I'm glad there's somewhere I could help."
"Ice cream?" "I thought you would never ask." She smirks and we head for ice cream as we walk holding hands. I just couldn't do it; I couldn't erase her happy smile from her face. Besides, she didn't give me the opportunity to do it. She was just too happy as usual.
