When we stare at the day sky it looks so vast filled with clouds, but looking closely it feels a little empty...... Blue with white clouds which disappears eventually. We still find it beautiful and calming, i wonder why when a human is empty it's such a turn off........
"Knock!knock!knock!"
"Irene, honey wake up! You are going to be late again!" Came a loud feminine voice through the door, breaking Irene's little dream."Ughh!" Irene groaned, a little tired waking up while her hands covered her face to push back the morning hair, taking a look at the clock on the wall she was brought to reality as her eyes opened wide.
"Shit! Not again!" With a defeated sigh she quickly followed her daily routine, taking a quick shower, brushing her teeth and making sure she had a decent outfit to go to school, she made her way downstairs hurrying to catch the bus.
"Bye mom, i am leaving!" She shouted while reaching for the door.
"Wait right there! You can go after the breakfast" her mom called her out from the kitchen before she got the chance to leave
"Mom! I'm already late and it won't matter if i lost a bit of weight i am a little chubby anyway" she protested
"Atleast have a glass of juice, and stop saying things like that" her mother
sighed at her while looking at her a little disappointedShe sensed she said the wrong words "i am sorry, i know i am cute!" she apologized sincerely then cheekily smiled at her mother and gulped down the glass of juice.
Bidding a quick 'bye!' she made her way to the bus stop barely making to catch the bus in time.
"Thank god, i made it" sighing she took the nearest empty seat next to one of her classmates.
"Hey! Irene, good morning!" Linda one of the classmates chirped happily smiling.
"Hey, Linda, good morning" slightly smiling irene returned the greeting politely.
After sometime, still on the bus on the way to school Linda asked, "hey did we had something to do for today's classes?"
After pondering a bit irene answered," i don't remember anything and it's basically the end of school so everything is just revisions and final projects".
"Yes....." Linda smiled and turn to look outside the window.
Small talks not one of the best feats of Irene, she was just glad she didn't said anything weird.
Just when they were about to reach school Linda interrupted saying, "by the way are you going to be in Anderson's birthday party? it's our last year so maybe we could have some fun" she sounded excited.
"Well... I have to think about it" hesitantly Irene answered, she was not a very outgoing person but still was very capable of maintaining decent relations with her classmates.
They finally reached and Linda caught up with her friends and Irene as usual walked to her class while saying a few occassional greetings, she made her way to the lockers to grab few necessities for the classes.
"Hey!" A voice called and Irene was well aware of who it was.
"Hey, Samuel" she smiled a little trying to be polite.
"How is your morning? My grumpy bear" grinned the boy in front of her.
She shrugged casually answering, "the usual and i told you to stop calling me that" she shot a little warning but friendly look at him.
"Come on! What would you do without me? If i am not here to annoy you everyday, you would not survive" Samuel exclaimed and proudly stated.
"Yes, okay!" She just let it go, smiling at his silly remarks she started to made her way to the class, while Samuel met up with few of his friends.
She entered the classroom and saw a couple kissing, she shrugged and made her way to the desk, no one was in the class yet so she put her head down to rest a little but not before commenting, "i did not see anything" at the couple to make sure she stayed out of everything, that is the way she liked it.
*******
After a few classes it was finally lunch, Irene did the usual made her way to the cafeteria, while eating her lunch she tried to go over a few things for her next class, just to make sure her day goes smoothly.
Finally it was the second last class of the day, sitting in class after waiting for a while finally the teacher came.
"Hello, students" Mrs. William greeted and proceeded with the class.
"So as you all are aware we have barely 6 months left , we have already completed most of the syllabus and i would like to assign the final project so you all can complete them without any delay, not like you are actually going to start now even with this warning you will all just choose to rush at the end." She sighed and continued, "anyways, so this is a final project so it will require a little effort, i will be assigning a topic which will include not just economics but will also require a bit of mathematics".
When she mentioned math half of the class groaned including Irene, "i am not good at this, why?" She whined.
"Ah! I expected the response but do not worry you will be assigned a partner, i made sure the pair combined is made of people who are good at math and economics, so i am expecting good results" Mrs. William stated and stood up opening a register which included all the students record.
"Okay, so.... Starting with the groups....." She continues to speak the names and all the while irene was praying if she could just get paired with someone she wanted to talk to for a while now.
"I wish i can be paired with Ray, i mean it's not like i like him or anything, it would be nice to get to know him" she thought while catching a glimpse of her little crush.
Ray was basically the crush of the whole school, smart, good-looking and didn't have a bad personality either.
"Ray and Serena" the teacher announced and eventhough Irene did not want to admit but she felt her heart drop, disappointed maybe a little.
"Well it is what it is" she sighed, she thought to herself, "I just wanted to know him i guess but it's okay i never really wanted to date him and i am not interested in dating so that's good also considering the girls he dated he had a preferred style, i was just not to his preference, it's no big deal everyone has a type, it's okay absolutely fine" all the while she was just trying to deny her real feelings, she was never the one to admit.
" Irene and Jason" in a sudden moment Irene heard the name her head shot up like a alerted dog, she scanned a bit and finally her eyes landed on the boy Jason.
Jason, he was okay according to Irene, she had talked to him before, just the casual encounters but she heard different from others. He was handsome, jet black hair, kind eyes like a bunny, a good physique too, good at studying but had a rebel side to him. Teachers were never able to taunt him because his grades were good but he still got in trouble a few times, he liked to date so it was pretty obvious to see him with girls, he didn't seem harmful though.
Irene thought to herself but she forgot she was still looking at Jason, he turned to her and smirked like he knew something. Her face had a neutral expression she quickly turned away, looking straight ahead to Mrs William.
Her mind just said these words, " You will be fine, it is just a project, hang in there".But there was something, she couldn't quite put a finger on it, she shrugged the feeling, "okay! Let's do it!" She whispered to herself.
