1 week later
Ring! Ring! Ring!
I was walking out of the meeting hall when i heard my cell phone ring.
"Hello?" I answered.
"What is this i am hearing? Irene" a stern male voice spoke.
"Dad? What happened?" Curious because of his angry tone i questioned.
"You broke up with Dave! Why?" My father spoke in a angry tone.
"Because he cheated on me" i answered casually not letting my voice tell that it affected me.
"He did What?!" He spoke in surprise and i gave him a minute to register
"I am sure we can talk it out, Irene" hearing my father say this i stopped in my tracks.
Did he actually just said that!
"He has a fiance, father! How could you even suggest something like this!" Now i was furious at his ridiculous Idea.
"Calm down, Irene. It's not like he is married and i expect you to understand the situation better" he reasoned with me.
"Do you even hear yourself, father! Married or not he cheated on me and I am not negotiating anything!" With that i hung up the phone.
Frustrated i ran my fingers through my hair and took a deep breath to calm myself down.

Jason's POV
It has been a week since everything happened.
I tried to give Irene as much space and time as she needs, because god only knows i much i missed this women and i am not risking loosing her again.
I have been stubborn after she left without giving me a clear reason, i fell back to my old ways hooking up from women to women through college that's what I did but after seeing her again i realized the love i still hold for her, able to touch her again, be close to her, that was everything.
I am glad i have a family that supported me and helped me build a company otherwise i would just be a playboy i guess, ofcourse can't forget my friend Sam, now my stupid best friend. He maybe clingy at times but he helped me through alot not just with business but with everything.
I was sitting in my office, working when i saw Irene walk past my office, straight not even sparing a glance.
She looked disturbed, i saw her running her fingers through her curly brown hair and huffing out some air through her mouth.
I stood up and left my office to follow her.
"Miss Vermillion?" I called out in a professional tone since we were in the office building.
She didn't respond so i reached my hand to grab her by wrist.
"Irene? Are you listening?" I turned her around only to see her red eyes, like she has been crying.
"Oh hey Jason, um i mean Mr. Sterling, I'm sorry i didn't hear you" she tried to look around.
"It's okay" i quietly spoke.
"Is everything okay? Miss Vermillion?" I asked concerned by looking at her state.
"Yes everything is fantastic" she smiled hiding everything from flashing that smile and i decided to not push her instead changed the topic.
"Good. Well then how would you like to have dinner with me?" I asked her smiling.
Her eyes widen at the sudden invitation but she quickly composed herself.
