"A sudden wave of sadness washes over me and I can't stop but feel empty inside. I feel so lonely and disappointed because there is nothing to be sad about, so why am i like this? Why do i feel so hollow yet so overwhelmed? It's really heavy......."
" Hey! Irene?" A voice brought Irene out her maze of thoughts, not again, she thought feeling herself getting heavy with the feeling.
"Is everything okay?" Jason asked as he noticed her zoning out.
"Yes" she forced a smile.
"Okay, so how about you and me at my place?" He said leaning closer and smirking at her.
"Can we skip meeting for the project today?" She clearly ignored his teasing gestures and seemed lost.
"Really? No taunts or sweet comebacks?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"I'm sorry" she held her books tightly against her chest and looked down.
He noticed something was different today, that's the first time he saw her being so zoned out.
"Hey! My grumpy bear!" Samuel suddenly hugged her from behind surprising her, she looked behind her, no reaction at all just an unknown look on her face.
"Hello" she tried to give him a faint smile, they were now standing face to face. Jason was observing the greeting between them and was feeling a bit upset? Sad? Jealous? Can't really say what exactly.
Jason cleared his throat and they both looked at him.
"Hey, Jason!" Samuel greeted him and gave him a giant hug too grinning at him.
"Hello to you too" Jason answered.
"I will be going then, goodbye" Irene waved her hand and proceeded to leave, Jason wanted to stop her but decided against because he really didn't know what he would say.
He sighed, "I wonder what is up with her all of sudden?" He furrowed his eyebrows together, concerned.
Samuel noticed and replied, "maybe it's one of those days" he said looking at her retreating figure.
"What do you mean?" Jason curiously questioned.
"Oh! I also noticed that sometimes she seems distant, so i asked she always replied with, 'i am okay, i just feel tired' and smiles at me" he answered turning towards Jason.
"Oh..."
"I always try to give her food, it usually makes her a little happy" Samuel smiled at Jason and continued, "i should probably drop by and give her one of her favourites." He nodded his head deciding to which Jason just stared while contemplating something in his mind.
"Yes, that would be nice" Jason replied smiling.

8:00pm
Irene was in her house, in the kitchen preparing dinner for herself. It was one of her bad days, she never knew how to explain it to anyone, her family loved her they had to leave her on her own sometimes, she understood it completely and knew everything, there were no secrets between them. But this, she just can't explain, she didn't believe it herself to explain it to others.
Taking a deep sigh she took out ingredients,
"Flour, veggies and oil ofcourse....." She trailed off while whispering to herself when suddenly the door bell rang.
She quickly ran up to the front door, "who could it be?" She thought, it was rare for someone to show up at the house when her mother wasn't around.
