Dixie.
On the way back, we still didn't know what we were going to do about the distance, but we deserved to enjoy our love for each other at least for the day. We sat side by side on the bus and I laid on her shoulder, feeling her hand grasp mine and caress it softly.
It was a long trip, but none of us seemed to care. Madison and Claudia still felt self conscious about being together in public, not being sure who had seen their "heat of the moment" kiss, I knew they were probably worried about Madison's parent finding out about them, but I could see their hands grazing each other, I smiled. Charli was happy to be alone for once, her eyes finally getting back the sparkle that had been lost for a while, I was proud of my little sister.
When we got off the bus, I looked at her, unsure of what was next.
"I'm exhausted and I need to call my sister, she's not picking up." (Y/N) told me.
"Do you want a ride home? My car's still at the parking lot." I offered.
"Yeah, sure, my back's killing me." The soccer player nodded. I smiled and we walked towards my car, putting our baggage on the backseat.
The ride to her place was fast, I parked in front of it and looked at the other girl, not knowing what to say.
"Hey, do you want to maybe... come in?" (Y/N) spoke out.
"Really?" I asked, she chuckled.
"I don't really want to be away from you after all this time." She told me, making my smile grow larger.
"Fine, but can I use your shower?" I questioned.
"Ok, but I'll need to use it too." The girl responded, scooting closer to me.
"I'll make room for you then." I whispered against her lips, kissing them quickly and getting out of the car.
We went up quietly, holding hands and looking at each other with a smirk.
"I'll just go call my sister really qui..." (Y/N) stopped talking once she opened the door, looking inside her apartment with her mouth open, I furrowed my eyebrows.
"What is it?" I questioned, looking inside.
Inside her apartment, I found a short girl, she was probably around Charli's age, her hair dark and eyes green, she looked at (Y/N) with a smile, I saw a tear run down her face slowly as they looked at each other.
"Surprise...?" She spoke out. I saw (Y/N) blink a couple times as she walked inside her apartment slowly.
Without saying a word, the 2 girls hugged each other tightly. I watched as sobs came from the two of them, their hands shaking as they held each other.
"How did you get here?" (Y/N) pulled away to look at her through her own tears.
"I ran away." The young girl sobbed.
"How did you even get on a plane?" My teammate chuckled, drying her tears with one hand.
"I'm emancipated, it wasn't that hard, immigration sucks though". The girl explained with a small smile.
"Oh, God. I can't believe you're here." (Y/N) said, hugging her tightly one more time. At that point, I was pretty sure the girl in her arms was her sister.
"I'm sorry, I just needed to." The other girl told her.
"It's alright, we'll figure it out, we always do." I heard (Y/N) whisper before pulling away.
"Also, Dixie, that's my little sister Laura." She finally turned to me.
"Hey." I smiled shyly.
"Hi! She's pretty!" Laura turned to (Y/N) making my teammate blush and roll her eyes.
"Quit it! We have a lot to figure out." The girl responded, sighing and laying on her couch.
"Do you need me to go?" I questioned.
"No! Stay." She said, getting up and walking in my direction.
"I won't be able to join you in the shower, but I promise I'll make up for it." She whispered in my ear, making my arms fill with shivers, I smirked in response.
"I'll miss you." I whispered back.
"There's towels inside the bathroom, you can just wear some of my clothes." The girl explained, I smiled and nodded as she guided me to her room and then her shower.
(Y/N) left me alone to shower and I did, wondering what would happen now that her sister was around. Maybe it would make things easier, or maybe not. I tried not to focus on the hard part, but I knew that eventually I'd have to, I needed to know of we'd be away, and for how long.
When I left the bathroom, (Y/N) was alone on her couch, a half smile on her face.
"Hey." I called, making the girl look at me.
"Hey, Laura wanted me to try the tacos down the street really bad, so she went to pick some up." She explained, I nodded and sat by her side.
"You smell good." She told me, kissing my neck softly.
"You smell like sweat." I whispered, making the other look at me in disbelief, I laughed loudly at her expression.
"You're so rude!" She complained, nudging me slightly.
"I didn't say I didn't like it." I teased, kissing her slowly.
"You're gross." She whispered against my lips, I giggled in response.
"So, what are you going to do?" I finally asked, hands sweating, afraid of what she'd answer.
"Well, I have nothing important for me back home, I don't think our father would even take us back, so I don't even have a home back home!" She told me, laughing dryly, sighed.
"I want me and Laura to stay here, but there's a lot I need to sort out. I need a job, a place... and so many documents." She explained, rolling her eyes.
"I can help you." I said, making the other girl smile.
"It's a lot of work, Dixie, you don't have to." (Y/N) responded.
"I want to. I want you to stay." I said back.
"Fine, there's want thing you can do for me." The girl told me.
"And what is it?" I asked.
"Come to prom with me."
