NOVA
After pacing up and down the hall for a good half an hour, Sana toppled out of her room with a sweaty and panicked looking Jin following behind her. If they had just listened to me and not had sex, we wouldn't be running so late.
"Jimin's going to kill me if we're not there in ten minutes," Jin muttered, slapping his head in frustration.
The sound of his name even sent shivers down my back.
"Why would Jimin kill you?" I asked. Jimin didn't seem like the type to care about someone being late, not unless it was me. If it were me, I would probably be saying goodbye to Sana as well as Hyunjin.
"No time for chit chat, Nova! Out the door now!" he screamed in a pitch only dogs could hear. I couldn't help but laugh at his sudden change in tone, it was the funniest thing I'd ever witnessed.
We all ran through the dingy parking lot and threw ourselves into Jin's car. I couldn't deny that it was nice being around such wealthy people just for the transportation.
I was immediately taken back to the drive Jungkook and I took a couple of weeks ago to Daechon beach. It was such a good day, us both wrapped up in our puffer coats, hats and scarves, running along the beach together. It got too cold after five minutes, so we ended up hurrying back into his car and turning on the heating to full blast. All I could remember was how he clasped my hand between his, breathing warm air on them. That was the day I realised I loved him, no matter how quickly our relationship had progressed.
"Hold on tight, it looks like I'm breaking speed limits girls!" Jin called out, cracking his neck and sending a quick wink to Sana, who hadn't stopped giggling the whole time. I loved watching them together, they were so different to Jungkook and me. We were more serene and just melted in each other's presence, whereas Jin and Sana looked like they doped up on love potion 24/7. I wouldn't be surprised if they spontaneously got married or popped out triplets. It was just the way they worked.
March in Korea was an awkward month for weather. It was quite rainy and dreary as the seasons began to change. Looking out of the window at the grey clouds, they really represented my mood today. I had decided, out of spite and stubbornness, to wear a semi see-through dress and heels just to torment Jungkook, and now after being outside, I was starting to feel the effects of my reckless decision. Pathetic fallacy is definitely a real thing.
I suddenly jumped, clutching my chest, as I heard sirens ringing behind us, waving down the car. "Jin, pull over!" I yelled as he slammed his foot on the accelerator. "You're going to get us arrested and then you won't be attending the party at all!"
I held onto the handle for dear life.
"Nova, calm down! If I'm late for this surprise party, I'll have to experience the wrath of Park Jimin and I would rather not feel that!" He shouted back over the rumbling of the exhaust. "Besides, once they see it's me, they'll let me off."
