JIMIN

I didn't know how to feel. In the space of five minutes, my whole world was shaken. I was whipped from my depression and thrown into full-blown saviour mode.

I tried not to think about everything I'd heard in the voice note Tae sent me, all I cared about right now was reaching her. I could only imagine what she was going through... all alone.

We pulled up outside the building, not quite believing that this was where she was being imprisoned. It looked nothing like I expected it to, it looked like your average hospital - I'd driven past it a thousand times.

But I never expected to visit someone here, especially her.

As the car came to a halt, I quickly threw myself out and ran through the swarm of people visiting their loved ones. I didn't care who was in my way, all I cared about was getting to her.

"Jimin!" Tae shouted after me, his body hanging out the window of the car as he motioned for me to wait for him.

I wasn't stopping for anyone.

Pushing open the doors, I searched around not knowing which way to go. "Excuse me! Excuse me!" I almost yelled at the receptionist as my body slammed into the desk. "Mae Nova, I'm here to see Mae Nova!"

"Okay sir, well you'll have to wait with the other visitors in the visitation room. Down the hall and to the left, you can't miss it." She didn't even look up from her computer.

"No, no, no," I was shaking my head and gasping for air, "I need you to take me to her now."

"Like I said, sir, you'll have to wait with the other-" she paused at the end of her sentence after finally looking up at me. She gulped heavily, before hiccupping on her words. "Oh my, Mr Park, I'm so sorry. I'll have someone escort you!" She stammered, picking up the phone on her desk.

"Thank you!" I breathed out. It was only a matter of time before the police would be here anyway. What Dr Jeong had done was beyond fucked up and it was all because of Namjoon, they both deserved to rot in prison.

But who was I kidding? Namjoon was too highly esteemed to be sent to jail. He would get out of it like he normally does.

"Mr Park?" An older woman called out to me, wearing a white nursing dress. "Would you like to follow me?"

All I could do was nod. The adrenalin was calming down and I was left with just pure guilt as I followed her through the empty corridor. Everything looked the same: the walls, the floors, the ceiling, they were all painted a jarring icy white. The outside didn't resemble a mental institution but the inside sure did, anyone was bound to be pushed over the edge in this place.

"She's just down here, Mr Park," the woman pointed to the open door at the end of the corridor. "She's been doing okay, responding well to treatment but she's not been the easiest patient. We had a slip up around July where she stored up all of her pills and attempted to overdose, she's very good at hiding her pain. Thankfully, she's doing much better now."
