NOVA
I could feel my heartbeat; every single pound in my chest. Not through my ears, because they were l being occupied by the booming music coming through the large double doors in front of me. I could feel the pumping of my blood in my fingertips, my neck and my temples - it wasn't a comfortable feeling.
"Nova, calm down, I can hear your heart beating from here," Tae whispered, rubbing my hand which was intertwined with his.
"Sorry," I suddenly felt a chill come over me, " it's just that my aunt always said, those who dare to wear the colour red will be the centre of attention in a crowded room," I explained, choking on the end of my words. "I'm overthinking a little bit, haha. Actually, maybe a lot..."
Tae squeezed my hand, showing me that he understood. "I don't think you'll be the only one wearing red, Tiger," he knowingly chuckled. "Right, I'm going to take the chance to tell you something before enter through those doors."
Why did that sound so deep?
"Go ahead, I'm not ready to go in yet anyway," I encouraged, looking for any reason to stall.
He cleared his throat, throwing his head back to stare at the ceiling. It looked like he was fighting everything to reveal this thing to me.
"Nova, you're by far the greatest girl I've ever met, and you deserve to be happy. Even though there's hope for the future, you haven't fully blossomed yet, and because of that I'm gonna need you to choose what's best for you. You know what I'm talking about. Don't live your life for someone else, live for yourself and your happiness," he was passionate as he spoke, tilting his head towards me so that his light brown eyes could pierce mine.
I knew what he meant, but it wasn't that simple. I couldn't let those feelings in, not whilst I still loved Jungkook. He had done so much for me today, I was one step closer to my happily ever after.
I couldn't do anything but nod at Tae as I took a deep breath, turning towards the doors.
"Let's go." I smiled, pushing all of my anxiety to the back of my head. "Before I change back into the black."
"I've got you."
We walked forwards, my heels clinking along the marble floor as he pushed open the mahogany doors towering above us.
"Wow!" Was all I could say as the attributes of the space filled my senses. It wasn't at all what I expected it to be, it was more like a ballroom than a function hall. It was what I'd describe as a modern renaissance feel, very aesthetically pleasing with its gold, reflective walls and chandeliers that matched the ones in the foyer. Just standing in there made me feel far from ordinary.
