Jessica
It's the beginning of November now and there was a lot of things to look forward to. Summer was my favorite season but fall themed stuff was my favorite concept. And this November wasn't going to be like anything I knew because there's so much to do. Anthony was insistent on traveling and working for the foundation and my birthday was this month too. I can only imagine what the future holds for us.
"Wake up" Anthony yells as he jumps into bed. I unintentionally roll over to see him sitting on the side of the bed just smiling at me.
"Babe it's like 7 am" I mumble.
"It's 10 in the morning sweetie" he tells me and I laugh.
"Oh. In that case a few more minutes" I beg.
"No can do. We're on a schedule" he infoms me.
"Who's schedule" I question.
"It's a surprise" he tries.
I open my eyes back up and I see he is fully dressed. And not just dressed, but dressed up too. "Is this about my wish list" I question.
"Yes but there's more to it than that. And it's really important so up you go" he says as he pulls me over. He sits me up next to him as I let him know that I was still tired. "Dress nice and be ready in a hour" he says as he gives me a kiss. He leaves me there as I just shake my head. I agreed to do this shit twice??
I reluctantly get out of bed and hop in the shower. When I come out I see a beautiful light blue dress sitting on the counter and I smile really big. Now I know Anthony is really up to something and the only way to find out what it is is if I play along. So I pull on the dress and curl my hair. I cut it again because I was digging the short hair a lot. Once that was done I add a little makeup and exit the room.
I find Anthony waiting by the door and he had a bouquet of a bunch of different flowers. I smile big as I skip over to him and give him a kiss. "I would ask what this is all about, but you wouldn't tell me would you" I accuse and he laughs.
"Nope" he smirks.
"Alright, let's do this. Whatever this is" I giggle.
We get into the car and I pull on my seatbelt. I was ready to go but Anthony doesn't pull out. Instead he grabs a blindfold and hands it to me. "Do you want to put this on or do you want me to" he asks.
"Alright, now I'm concerned" I admit as he chuckles.
"All good surprises involve a blindfold" he assures me.
"Man, I must really love you" I joke as I take the blindfold from him.
"Where this surprise is heading I sure hope so" he replies.
So I pull the blindfold on and he starts to drive. We sit in the car for about 20 minutes before the sounds of the city die out and I knew we were no longer downtown. I sit there and listen to the music and try not to over think this, because with this man this could literally be anything. I never knew what to expect and I loved that about him.
Finally we come to a complete stop and I hear the car turn off. I turn to Anthony even though I had a blindfold on and he laughs at me. "Stay there and I'll help you out" he instructs.
"I can't take it off yet" I pout.
"No, not yet. But very soon" he promises.
He comes around to the passenger side of the car and helps me out. We walk a few steps before coming to a stop. "Alright, now you can take it off" he informs me.
So I take the blindfold off and let my eyes adjust a little. I find myself in the front yard of a beautiful house and my eyes get big. It was stunning, a old style house with modern construction. You could even see Wrigley from here.
"Anthony, what are we doing here" I ask barley above a whisper.
"We're home" he tells me.
I gasp as my hands shoot to my mouth to try and cover the shock I wore on my face. I get tears in my eyes as I turn to him. "You didn't" I accuse.
"I did. I saw it was on your wish list, to have a house and to make your life instead of just living in it. And the funny thing is you picked this house out. We were supposed to move into it in February of this year but it never happened. And when you came back I checked to see if it was still available and by some miracle it was. I kind of impulsively put a down payment on it and signed off so the house is ours, as of this morning. It's fully furnished though according to you it's boring so I'm sure you'll change it all around. But as of right now, we're home" he explains.
I quickly jump into his arms and he catches me. I couldn't think of anything to say so instead I told him with my hug and I hope he knows just how much this means to me.
"There's more to this so let's go inside" he insist as he carefully sets me down. He grabs my hand and we walk into the house.
We look around the first floor which was the kitchen and living room and storage and that's about it. But we don't spend too much time in there because Anthony wanted to get to the backyard quick.
He slides the glass door open and we walk into the back. There was a beautiful porch much like the one at my parents house and a grill already ready to be used. Then I look to the left and see a garden full of little blue flowers. The same little blue flowers that were on my ring.
"Are those forget me nots" I ask and he smiles.
"That they are" he nods. "Go get a better look."
So we walk down the steps and head over to the garden. I look through the flowers and admire just how beautiful they were. I get to the end and see a note sitting on the flowers that say "turn around" on it. So I turn to ask Anthony what this was about and see him sitting on one knee with a ring box in his hand.
"Anthony" I whisper before he smiles up at me. He opens up the ring box and I see the ring from before but with a little more to it this time around.
"Jessie, I know I haven't always done right by you. I know that this year has been the hardest year of your life. I hate that for a moment you didn't know me because that meant you didn't know how much you mean to me. And you mean everything.
And even though I already proposed and you already said yes I wanted to give you the option to make a meeting happily ever after instead of chasing after on that's gone now.
So Jess, my moon and my stars, will you agree to marry me. Again" he smiles.
"Yes" I whisper as a tear falls down my face. He slips the ring on my finger before I tackle him to the ground. "I love you" I tell him as he smiles back at me.
"I love you too" he promises.
