After their breakfast, Can brought Ley to the playground. It was their usual weekend hangout.
He stood there watching as Ley rushed to the slides as soon as they arrived at the playground. There were also other children playing there. Probably with their parents also. Can sat at a bench under a tree and let Ley play with her friends. He smiled to himself as he heard their adorable giggles. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, but there were also fluffy clouds in the sky. Under the tree beside him, he saw a couple sitting on a picnic blanket. They looked happily at the kids running around the playground, maybe one of the kids was theirs.
He reached for his phone inside his pocket and started to search online for websites that offered jobs while looking towards Ley's direction occasionally. He decided that he would go to a nearby computer shop later to print a copy of his resume and other documents needed.
He was in the middle of scrolling through his phone when he heard Ley's cries. Looking in her direction, he saw that Ley was on the ground. In front of her stood a small boy. He immediately ran to where they were.
"What happened, sweetie?" When he motioned for Ley to stand up, he noticed a slight scratch on her left knee. Tears welled up in her eyes. He wiped Ley's cheeks after dusting the dirt off her dress.
"She fell from the slides and landed on her knees," the boy replied. Can turned his gaze on the kid, he was chubby and his eyes were small. Can guessed that he was just the same age as Ley. "I was about to help her."
Can shifted his attention to Ley and searched her body for any other possible wounds, but found none.
"Pa, I'm fine now. I'm already a big girl."
Can smiled and cupped her cheeks.
"That's good. Let's wash your knee first then we'll put a band-aid on your wound, okay?" Can stood up and carried Ley.
"Are we going home now?" Ley asked while pouting. Can felt something tugged his heart.
"No. We'll just clean your knee then you can go back to play with your friends again."
Ley smiled then turned her attention to the boy in front of them, who was holding a ball.
"Thank you for your help."
The boy dropped his ball and reached for his pocket.
"I have a band-aid." He extended his hand to give a color blue band-aid with robot prints to Ley and she accepted it. Can smiled and thanked the boy.
"Let's play later when we come back, okay? I'll just wash up." Ley smiled sweetly.
The boy simply nodded and reached for his ball again.
Can began walking towards the toilet, where he washed Ley's knees before applying a bandage to her wound.
"Does it hurt?" he asked after putting on the band-aid.
