Can wore the shirt Paul gave him that time the man arrived from his out of town trip for business purposes. He first went to a shopping mall to buy a last-minute gift for Ian, settling for a quite out-of-the-budget toy car, hesitating at first because he knew that the kid already had tons of toys, but he didn't know what else he could buy.
When he arrived at his boss' house, he noticed that only one car was parked in the garage. A sigh of relief escaped his mouth when he recognized whose car it was.
It was his boss'.
The guards already gave him the key to the car and he checked if the car was in good condition. Once he was done, he stood beside the car and waited for his boss to come out, not wanting to step inside the man's territory.
Not long after, Carla came out of their house and walked towards him.
"Hi, Can. Why didn't you bring your daughter with you?" she asked as soon as she reached the car.
"She's already at the venue," he replied then opened the car door for her.
She went inside and he closed the door for her again. After that, he went to the driver's side and started the car.
He already knew where the venue of the party was so he did not ask her anymore, he saw it when Ley showed him the invitation card yesterday.
The ride was quiet, with soft music playing on the radio.
"I'm sorry that I still haven't found a replacement for you. It's just hard to find someone else that could be trusted nowadays," Carla suddenly apologized while they were stuck in the traffic.
"It's okay," he replied shortly even though it was not okay for him.
"And about Tin..."
With that, Can tightened his grip on the steering wheel as he gritted his teeth, looking at the car in front of them. He doesn't want to talk to her about anything not related to work. But he couldn't dismiss what she was saying because she was his boss.
"I don't know what he did to you. He didn't tell me and I didn't ask him about it too. I just thought that maybe you could give him a chance to explain his side. You don't have to forgive him that easily. What I mean is that, maybe you could spare him even a few minutes only, and listen to him. I know what he's been doing to gain your forgiveness were all stupid. And I understand if that only heightened your anger instead of softening to him. He was a big jerk."
He doesn't understand his boss. Why was she trying to help Tin when she shouldn't even be talking to him instead because she was Tin's current fiancee. They would get married soon, and Can would be out of the picture in their lives.
"Why are you doing this?" he asked in an undertone.
"Because I see that Tin is trying. Sometimes he could just be a jerk, well, most of the time. But then, I know him. And I assure you that he was truly sorry for what he did to you."
