It all happened quickly. The newspaper was already folded five times, and the game was on its final round. The music stopped and Can's adrenaline rushed, his competitive self was back, determined to win against his P'No.
He tiptoed on the newspaper, pulled Paul with him, and held on the man's shoulder for support, Paul grabbed his waist in return.
It all happened in the blink of an eye and the next thing he saw was Paul's face only a few centimeters apart from his face, eyes wide from shock as him, nose almost touching.
But what stunned him the most was the feeling of another lip lightly touch his own.
Both hearts beating fast, it was so loud he almost thought the others heard it too."I'm going home," he heard a man said, at the back of his mind, he instantly recognized the owner of that voice. And that pulled him out of his shocked state.
Lightly pushing Paul away, he stepped back and released a breath he didn't know he was holding in.
"And the winner of the game is Techno's team!"
"Yes! I told you, I'm gonna win this game!"
The crowds cheered and applauded, instantly forgetting the sight of two men who accidentally touched each other's lips.
Still frozen on his spot was Paul, staring straight right at him.
"I'm sorry," he was the one to say that when he finally snapped out of his trance.
That must've had pulled the man from the shock and seconds later, he shook his head lightly, chuckling.
"No probs. It was an accident," Paul replied casually, "I'm gonna go to the bathroom first."
He wasn't able to reply because Paul already turned his back to him and walked fastly in the opposite direction.
Involuntarily, his head just turned in the direction where he heard the voice of the man who said he was going home, he saw how the people made way for that man while the man walked past them unbothered.
"Pa!" Ley's voice pulled him out of his empty thought, "I thought you weren't coming here."
Shifting his attention to the girl, he said, "My boss asked me to drive for her."
He carried Ley with him and walked back to where Prince and Ian were. Other sets of games continued but he did not join anything again.
"Happy birthday, Ian," he greeted the birthday boy with a smile.
"Thank you, Uncle Can," Ian replied.

The party went on like usual. He and Paul never brought back the topic of their accidental kiss, if it was even considered as one, again. They just let it be. It was unintentional anyway.
