50. Broken and Destroyed!!

Vaibhav strolled towards Anisha's desk with a cheeky smile on his georgous face and leaned on his elbows on her desk.

Vaibhav : Hey!!

Anisha looked up from her computer and smiled back shyly : Hi!!

Vaibhav : Busy??

Anisha pinched and made gesture with her forefinger and thumb : A little bit. You needed anything????

Vaibhav smirked raising his brows : Do I need any reason to come and meet my girlfriend now??

Anisha narrowed her eyes and Vaibhav sighed : Alright!! I need bhai's signature on this file urgently. Is he inside??

Anisha : Actually no!! Atharva sir has not come to office today. I called him this morning but he didn't answered the call. It never happened before. If he is not coming or working from home, he always informs me beforehand.

Vaibhav : Call him once more!!

Anisha nodded and dialled Atharva again only to get her call unanswered for one more time.

Vaibhav frowned taking his cellphone out of his pocket and dialling his sister-in-law : Hey bhabhi!!

Nitya : Hi what's up VB??

Vaibhav : Bhabhi is Big B around?? I need to talk to him.

Nitya : Um.... no I... I came over at my parents house for few days. Atharva must be at the office at this time.

Vaibhav : I am standing in front of his cabin bhabhi but Big B has not come to office today. Anisha even called him but he is not answering his phone.

Nitya : Call Joel and ask about him. Maybe Atharva would be working from home today.....

Vaibhav : Alright I will. Take care......

Nitya : Yeah bye!!

Anisha : What happened?? Does she know about him??

Vaibhav shook his head : No!!

Anisha frowned : No?? Is everything ok??

Vaibhav tossed the phone back in his pocket and called for the elevator : Don't know yet but I am gonna find out. I will see you later babe......

Anisha nodded waving her hand. Vaibhav drove to the penthouse and informed Joel on the way who was already present when he reached there.

Vaibhav : Is bhai inside??

Joel : I guess so because I didn't saw sir coming out since morning.

Vaibhav : Open the door!!

Joel opened the lock using his finger print and stepped aside for Vaibhav to enter. Vaibhav closed the door behind him and gasped seeing the state of the living room. All the showpiece and flower vase were down on the floor broken in numerous pieces whereas the cushions were tossed around  mercilessly. Only the wall with Nitya, Atharva and Agastya's pictures was untouched. Walking further inside, he felt bile rising in his throat when he smelled strong pungent ordour of alcohol and cigarettes in the air.

Vaibhav yelled climbing the stairs taking two steps at a time : Bhai!! Bhai!!

He pushed open the door to Atharva's bedroom and gasped loudly rushing towards his big brother. Shaking Atharva several times, he cringed when his nostrils were assaulted with the same pungent smell, this time it reeking from his brother.

Vaibhav : Bhai get up!!

Atharva squinted his eyes and swatted the hand patting his cheeks. He came face to face with Vaibhav when he opened his eyes and groaned holding his head.
