22. Trip to New Zealand?? Why??

Nitya was working on her laptop whereas Agastya was playing with his toys. Since Agastya was having a holiday in his daycare, Nitya decided to work from home for the day rather than attending office so she can look after him.

Maid : Mrs. Rajwanshi I have cleaned the entire house and also washed the clothes. Is there any other work left for me?

Nitya looked up from her laptop and shook her head : No Diana you can leave.

Maid : Should I bring the groceries before I leave??

Nitya : Naah I already bought all the things yesterday. And yes I forgot to transfer your payment last week. I will do it today.....

Maid : It's fine. I will take my leave then.

Agastya : Mommy I am hungry......

Nitya saved her work on laptop and stood up : Then come let's eat. Mommy made your favourite lemon rice for lunch today.

Agastya clapped his hands excited : With curd mommy??

Nitya picked him up and placed him in his high chair : Yes darling with curd.....

She was feeding Agastya when the front door opened and Atharva strolled inside. Hearing voices from the dinning area, he moved in that direction and saw his wife and son eating.

Nitya looked up and saw her husband : Hey you are early today!!

Atharva unbuttoned his cuffs and rolled his sleeves up : Yup didn't had much work in office so came home.

Nitya : Sit and have lunch. Let me get your plate.

Atharva pushed her shoulder and gestured her to sit : You eat. I will wash my hands and plate the food myself.

Agastya : Daddy will you play with me after lunch??

Atharva : Sure boo..

Nitya : You want more Agastya??

Agastya : Naah mommy tummy full.....

Nitya : Alright but finish this curd. You want more Atharva??

Atharva nodded and Nitya served him another portion of rice and curd.

After lunch, Agastya and Atharva played with Agastya's lego set while Nitya cleaned the dishes. An hour later, Atharva came downstairs and took a seat besides Nitya who was again working on her laptop.

Nitya : He slept??

Atharva nodded and rested his head on the crest of the sofa : I had to tell you something

Nitya kept her laptop aside and turned towards him giving him her full attention : Yes??

Atharva : I am going to New Zealand this evening.....

Nitya : New Zealand?? But why suddenly?? You just came back from London before two weeks......

Atharva : Some work......

Nitya frowned : What work? As far as I know we have only one ongoing project from New Zealand and that is with Lawson technology. And it's still time for the launch of first phase of that website.

Atharva titled his head and looked at her : I said there's some work so rather than counter questioning me, believe what I say.....

Nitya rolled her eyes : Ok I believe you..... Happy?? For how many days are you going??

Atharva : Three days at the top. My work will be done by then.

Nitya stood up : I will pack your bag!!
