53. Pleas and Ignorance

It's been a week since their face off and every single day since then, Atharva left no chance to express his feelings for Nitya. Everyday fresh variety of flowers are delivered to her as soon as she steps inside the office building. Whenever she throws up, he is always around to hold her hair and then he would silently leave her cabin. During the daytime, he sends some healthy snack for her to eat every hour even though half of it went in dustbin.

Today when she entered inside her cabin, the sweet fragrance drifted through the air and she shook her head. It was tulip bouquet today.

I hope this new day brings a new ray of happiness in our and our children's lives. I can't wait to bring our beloved princess and her lovely mother back home. Waiting for your return but for now just a small smile from you will work. I love you so much Ehefrau.

Nitya gritted her teeth and threw the bouquet alongwith the note in the dustbin making Atharva sigh loud from the doorframe.

Atharva entered inside shaking his head : This flower also went in dustbin. You are angry on me then why showing it on poor flowers??

Nitya rolled her eyes : Shut up and get the hell out of my cabin

Atharva ignored her remark and smiled brightly at her forwarding a small box of breakfast and a go-to cup of milkshake : Good morning love!! See I got your favourite sandwich and strawberry milkshake for you.....

Nitya : Take it back. I don't want it.......

Atharva : Comeon have it. You need to have something healthy frequently during pregnancy. I am sure our princess would also be eager to eat it.

Nitya snapped : I said I don't want to eat it. Can't you understand that?? And it's my child only not your's, got that!!!!! So stop irritating me everyday with your daily drama.

Atharva looked hurt : Does my concern seem to be drama for you??

Nitya : Well yeah because I don't know when will something again happen next and your concern will turn into your accusations.

Atharva smiled sadly : I...I am sorry again but I guess I deserve this from you. I failed you not once but twice and there's no excuse for that. Anyways I don't want to spoil your morning so I will leave. Call me if you need anything or don't feel well ok and yeah please eat this!!!!!

He left silently after saying that and Nitya's eyes leaked water which she was holding.

Why now Atharva?? Every damn time you do the mistake and then come back to me like nothing happened when you realise your mistake. Please stop making me punish you like this. I don't want to do it but you need to understand that every time you cannot undo the blunders you do. As a wife I can forgive you countless times because my love for you is above anything in this world even my self respect but as a mother I can't.

Atharva came back to his office and wiped the stray tear that escaped his left eye. His yearning gaze fell on Nitya and Agastya's photo kept inside the frame placed in the corner of his table. How can he be so impulsive every damn time.

Vaibhav barged inside his cabin without knocking and sighed looking at his brother : What happened now??

Atharva looked up startled by hearing his small brother's voice : When did you come??

Vaibhav shook his head taking a seat opposite to Atharva : When you were busy being a Devdas looking at bhabhi's photo.

Atharva frowned : Shut up and next time knock before coming inside......

Vaibhav rolled his eyes : Yeah yeah.....

Atharva mumbled to himself : Am I losing my touch that nobody listens to me nowadays??

Vaibhav : Any progress????

Atharva : What progress??

Vaibhav : About manofying my sister-in-law duh!! What else??

Atharva sighed in disappointment : No progress so far. She still doesn't like my sight and avoids me like a plague. Sometimes I think she is better off without a person like me.

Vaibhav : Are you giving up already????

Atharva glared at him : Hell no!! Giving up on them means giving up on my life. I would never ever even think about giving up.

Vaibhav : Then why you said she is better off without a person like you??

Atharva : I meant she is so pure and good that she deserves a person far better than me but that doesn't mean I am letting her go. Call me selfish or anything but she and my children are my life and no matter what may come but I won't stop till I have all three of them back in my home and my life.

Vaibhav grinned : That's the spirit bro!! And you are not alone in this alright. We all are there to help you......

Atharva nodded : Why are you here by the way??

Vaibhav smacked his head : Oh I forgot!! Dad is calling you in the conference room E for the meeting. All the department heads are already present.

Atharva stood up buttoning his blazer : Come on let's get moving!!

In the evening, Nitya and Anisha were enjoying their tea and snacks in the cafeteria when Atharva walked in with a beautiful woman by his side. Nitya was smiling at something Anisha said when her gaze fell on her husband with that unknown lady and her jaw dropped. First because that unknown lady was stunning and eye catching. She had attention of every single male in the cafeteria the moment she stepped inside and secondly because it was the first time she saw Atharva being comfortable and friendly with any female out of family.

Unknowingly, she squeezed the muffin in her hand hard resulting it to crumble and fall on the table. Anisha frowned seeing the sudden change in Nitya's demeanor and followed her line of vision only to smirk. She cleared her throat and Nitya drifted her eyes away from her husband feeling slightly embarrassed.

Anisha smiled cheekily : She is beautiful isn't she??

Nitya shrugged trying to act nonchalant : Yeah I mean she is ok!! Who is she by the way?? I have never seen her before.......

Anisha : She is Aastha, Armaan sir's younger sister. She shares a great bond with Atharva sir.

Nitya gritted her teeth in annoyance : It sure looked like that!! Anyways I need to get back to work. See you later........

Anisha nodded and broke in giggle as soon as Nitya left. Now she was sure that her boss and his wife's story would again proceed further. Jealousy is a really nasty but useful tool.
