25. Love is in the air

Sam was driving Nitya back home from office. Today since she had few important meetings to attend and a deadline to complete, she had dropped Agastya at her parents' place in the afternoon after picking him up from his daycare.

The thunder roared in the sky and splashes of rain started hitting the translucent windows. The car stopped in the middle and Nitya held back the groan.

Sam : You stay inside mam. I will check what's the problem with the car.

Nitya nodded pulling her phone out and glancing at her watch. It was already 10 in the night. She dialled her father.

Manav : Yes Nitu.....

Nitya : Dad my car has stopped and I think it would get late for me to come and pick up Agastya. So would you mind to keep him with you guys for the night??

Manav : Come on Nitu don't be formal. We would love to have him over. He and his granny are having time of life.

Nitya chuckled : Give the phone to him.....

Agastya : Mommy!!

Nitya smiled fondly hearing her son's cute voice : Darling! What were you doing??

Agastya : Playing with Glanny. When will you come mommy?? Wanna go home with you......

Nitya sighed : Baby it's raining outside and mommy's car is not working. Will you be a good boy and stay with your granny and grandpa for tonight?? I will come and pick you up tomorrow morning.

Agastya : Plomise??

Nitya : God promise darling!!

Agastya : Ok then.....

Nitya : Goodnight baby and sleep on time alright! Don't trouble granny too much.

Agastya : Yes mommy. Goodnight

Nitya leaned back and closed her eyes for a moment when she heard a knock on the window. Rolling the glass down, she saw Sam dialling someone.

Sam : Mam there's a mechanic right at the corner of the street. He is not picking up his phone so I will go and get him.

Nitya nodded and rolled up the glass again. Her phone rang and this time it was from Vaishali.

Nitya : Hey Vaish!!

Vaish : Bhabhi you said you will call in the evening and it's night now.....

Nitya : I am so sorry Vaish. I was too busy in work today. What you wanted to ask me? Tell me now.......

Vaish : It's ok. I just wanted you to accompany me to clubbing. Anyways the plan got cancelled.

Nitya : I am really sorry sweetie. Next time I will surely accompany you......

Vaish : Alright. What is my cutiepie doing??

Nitya : He is at my parent's place for tonight. I am on my way to home.

Vaish : Ok then call me whenever you are free. We will have a girl's day......

Nitya : Sure sweetie. Goodnight!!

Nitya saw Sam coming with a mechanic in tow and ten minutes later they were on their way back to home. Sam parked the car in the basement and opened the back door for her. Nitya tapped her feet impatiently and finally gave a sigh of relief when the elevator stopped right in front of their penthouse. God it was a long day for her!!!!

She entered inside and flicked the lights on when she heard a clipped voice from behind.
