14. A glimpse of domestic life

Since it was still time for dinner, Nitya left Agastya to play with Atharva whereas she went back to her room for arranging their clothes and other things.

Two hours later, Agastya sauntered inside bouncing : Mommy what are you doing??

Nitya closed the door of wardrobe and walked towards the threshold of her room : Nothing darling! I was arranging our things.

Agastya pointed towards himself : Me help Mommy??

Nitya chuckled picking him up : No baby mommy's work is done but thanks for offering to help. Hungry??

Agastya nodded.

Nitya : Then let's have dinner. Where is your daddy??

Agastya : Daddy see TV.

Nitya came into the living room with Agastya and saw Atharva randomly changing TV channels. She dropped Agastya on the sofa near Atharva and the little one crawled into his father's lap as soon as his mother dropped him down.

Nitya cleared her throat : Um.... Agastya is hungry. I am going to make dinner. What will you eat??

Atharva looked at her for a second before looking back towards Agastya : There aren't many edible things in the house right now so I have already ordered dinner for us. It will be coming in ten minutes. Tomorrow I will ask the housekeeper to order the groceries.

Nitya sat opposite to them : You have a housekeeper??

Atharva : She comes once a week to clean the entire penthouse and also does grocery shopping every month.

Nitya : Don't ask her to do grocery shopping. I will do it myself tomorrow.

Atharva shrugged : Your wish.

The doorbell went off and Atharva stood up to get their dinner from the delivery boy. After dinner, Nitya took Agastya back to her room to sleep whereas Atharva moved to his study to complete some of his pending works.

Next day, Nitya woke up around 5:45. Seeing Agastya sleeping so peacefully, she cuddled him for few minutes before kissing his cheek and moving towards the washroom for her morning chores. Changing into her track suit, she walked towards the kitchen and checked the entire pantry as per her habit. She has this habit of checking and making list of all the required things before going for shopping.

While moving towards the main door, she saw Atharva talking with one of his security.

Atharva saw Nitya coming and quickly turned towards Sam murmuring in a low voice : Keep an eye on her and my son from now on and there shouldn't be any chance of a single mishap happening to them understood??

Sam nodded and smiled at Nitya wishing her good morning. Nitya frowned when she saw a discreet eye exchange between Sam and Atharva.

Nitya : Everything ok??

Atharva : Nothing that concerns you......

She rolled her eyes and grabbed her wallet : I am going for a jog and then foodstuff shopping. Agastya will be waking up in an hour or so. If I have not yet returned, see to him. He requires someone around him when he wakes up or else he would start crying.

Atharva nodded and went towards his gym area whereas Sam followed Nitya out. Nitya scowled seeing him tagging her.

Nitya : Sam right??

He nodded curtly : Yes Mam!!

Nitya : Why are you following me??

Sam : Atharva sir's order mam. From now on, I am responsible for your and master Agastya's safety.

Nitya clenched her jaw hearing that. How can that asshole decide for her? She needs to have a word with him and that too as soon as she gets back. For now she can use a company.

After jogging for half n hour, Nitya asked Sam to guide her to the nearest supermarket and asked him to wait for her at the billing counter till she gets all the required items. After paying for the entire cart filled with various eatables, she handed the heavy bags to Sam and jogged back to the penthouse.

Atharva was fixing coffee for himself when he saw Nitya entering the kitchen followed by Sam who carried two large grocery bags.

Nitya : Leave it on the counter Sam.

Sam quickly left them on the kitchen counter before exiting the house.

Nitya : On whose permission did you asked Sam to follow me from now on??

Atharva heard but choose not to answer making Nitya more angry.

She grabbed his left bicep and turned him towards her : I asked you something......

Atharva pulled his arm away : And I heard! But if someone chooses not to answer you then you must learn that he or she is not interested.

Nitya : Just ask your security guy not to follow me around like a puppy. If not I will tell him directly.

Atharva : You are not doing any such thing. Sam follows my instructions, not yours.

Nitya : Then tell him to tag you not me.

Atharva : He is responsible for your and Agastya's safety from now on. So let the man do his job in peace.

Nitya : I can take care of Agastya and myself.

Atharva clenched his jaw in annoyance : I am a leading business tycoon in India Nitya and over the years to reach this position, I have also made several enemies who are always looking for a chance to get back at me so I can't take any chance for my family's safety.

Nitya gasped silently in astonishment hearing Atharva. Seeing him thinking for her too gave birth to a unknown satisfaction inside her heart. Not wanting to argue any further and defy him, she meekly mumbled ok and went to her room.

Agastya was stirring when Nitya came out of washroom after her shower. She smiled and waited for Agastya to open his eyes.

Agastya looked around and when he couldn't spot his mother, he sat up crying.

Nitya chuckled going towards him and placing him in her lap : Don't cry sweetie. See mommy is here only. Shh!!

Agastya nuzzled himself in his mother's chest and sniffed : I was alone mommy. Me afraid.

Nitya cooed : Aww my baby was alone! But now mommy is here so have no fear. You are my brave boy right??

Agastya nodded still hiding himself in his mother's embrace like a baby koala.

Atharva who also came upstairs to check on Agastya was mesmerized seeing the scene unfolding in front of his eyes. On one side, he couldn't get enough of his son's cuteness whereas on the other side, he cannot be more satisfied for having Nitya as his child's mother. Whatever opinion he holds for Nitya as a person but one thing is sure for him that she is the best mother he can imagine for his children. Atharva froze when that thought crossed his mind. Goodness from where did children came from??

Agastya saw him and indicated from his small palm to come close. Smiling at him, Atharva went inside and sat near Nitya.

Caressing Agastya's cheek, he smiled at him : Did my champ sleep well??

Agastya nodded rubbing his eyes. Nitya stood up and handed him to Atharva.

Nitya : Make him ready till I prepare breakfast for us.

Atharva : I will make mine.

Nitya shrugged : As you wish. Bring him down after getting him ready.

Agastya : Mommy you going??

Nitya : I am just going to make breakfast for us darling. Today daddy will give you shower ok??

Agastya nodded and snuggled more into Atharva's arms making him sigh in satisfaction. What he could not give up for his son.
