The last few months passed smoothly for them as the trio fell into a routine. While Agastya and Atharva became more closed with each day, the relationship between Nitya and Atharva was also changing even though at a slow pace. They talked with each other more often now than before. The ackwardness they had between them earlier is no more. They know about each other's likes and dislikes now and what the other person thinks at any given point. They have started to understand each other on a more deeper level by now.
Atharva was on a business trip this month and even though Nitya didn't wanted to recognise the plethora of emotions surging inside her in his absence, she couldn't help but miss him. His glares, mocking, anger, arrogance used to irritate her initially but now in his absence she misses it all. His voice even though rough and cold brings mysterious warmth in her ears.
It's been a month since he left to London for a business project but rather than feeling at peace, she is getting restless with each passing day. It's not like he didn't called or texted. He did but it was never for her. It was either for talking with Agastya or instructing her for carrying out any specific office work. She even once tried to call him after giving herself a peptalk for two days and gathering courage but when he answered the call, all her bravery and will went in drain and she cut the call saying she dialled him by mistake instead of dialling her mother.
Nitya sighed and closed the book she was reading. It's useless diverting her mind when all it wants is to think and imagine about her husband. She couldn't believe herself for having such thoughts about any other man again in her life. The mistake which she once did by trusting a wrong person with her life, she had swore not to repeat it again. Not to walk in that unpaved road another time and get in the maze of complications and liabities.
But it seems that her heart is not in synchronisation with her mind in Atharva's case. She is slowly allowing him to grow on her. In the past few months since they got married, Atharva had exceptionally proved himself to be an excellent father to Agastya and gained her trust as a mother. Her initial jealousy of sharing her son equally with another person seems unreasonable to her now.
Since the time they are married, even though Atharva never behaved like a lovey - dovey ideal husband for her but still he respects her as his wife. He may be rude and cold towards her but he never have been inconsiderate. From her basic needs to all the wordly luxuries to her safety, he carried out his duty as her spouse without any say. The image of him being a manipulater was slowly being replaced and she was seeing him in a new light with each passing day even though she doesn't want to willingly.
The door bell rang and she stood up to open the door. She smiled seeing her sister-in-law Vaishali who grinned back at her. Nitya moved aside to let the chirpy girl enter before closing the door.
Vaish : What's up Bhabhi??
Nitya : Nothing Vaish!! You tell how are you and others at home??
Vaish : All good bhabhi all good! I thought you could use some company since our cutiepie is out with VB and Big B is not home yet.
