16. Husband and Wife!!

On Monday morning, Atharva strolled in the kitchen and saw Nitya making breakfast. Not deciding to argue for two reasons, the first being his poor cooking skills and second knowing how stubborn Nitya is, he grabbed a seat on the small dinning table in the kitchen rather than sitting on big formal one in the dinning room.

Nitya saw him from the corner of her eyes but she didn't acknowledged his presence and continued with her work.

Atharva waited for her to speak something as she always does but today when that didn't happen, he cleared his throat to catch her attention.

Atharva : Where is Agastya?? Didn't he wake up yet??

Nitya turned off the knob and plated the omlette and toasted bread in two plates before placing them on the table. Passing one plate towards Atharva, she tore a piece of omlette from her own.

Nitya : He did and already had his breakfast.

Atharva nodded his head impressed : Wow didn't knew my champ can be an early riser too.

Nitya : He is not. I forcefully woke him up today.

Atharva frowned : Why??

Nitya : Because I need to drop him at his day care center before coming to office.

Atharva gaped at the newfound information : He goes to daycare center??

Nitya narrowed her eyes : You don't know?? I thought you are aware of that. I had him admitted since last month.

Atharva : I didn't knew. You always brought him with you whenever I wanted to spend time with him. Anyways what's the need for him to go now?? We can take him to office alongwith us. He can play in the kids playarea alongwith other children.

Nitya rolled her eyes : We cannot take him with us everyday. He won't allow us to properly concentrate on our works. And it's important for him to gain this experience as he will start preschool from next summer.

Atharva : Where is he now??

Nitya : In my room playing with his cars. He was hungry when he woke up so I made him eat early today. Do you want more??

Atharva shook his head standing up and putting his plate in the sink.

Nitya followed and when she started to wash them, Atharva said : Leave it!! The maid will come today.

Nitya nodded and then washed her hands before packing snacks for Agastya. Atharva's lips twitched a little upwards seeing her packing tiffin for Agastya. She is a goal as a mother.

Nitya grabbed the tiffin and kept it in Agastya's bag alongwith his water bottle. Then moving up stairs towards her room, she came down after ten minutes with Agastya.

Agastya sprinted towards Atharva and Atharva picked him up as soon as he reached him, kissing his cheek : Goodmorning champ! Ready to go??

Agastya nodded giggling and the trio moved towards the elevator with Joel and Sam tagging behind. Nitya stopped when they reached the basement.

Nitya : How will we go?

Atharva rolled his eyes : We all are going in car. If you want, you can come walking.

Nitya glared at him : Haha so funny. I was asking whether we are going together or you are going in separate car??

Atharva : We can go together in my car when we have same destination. Why bother to travel individually!

Nitya shrugged and slid in the back seat of his Porsche. Atharva nodded at his bodyguards who took the driver and passenger seats before he slid at the back seat next to Nitya with Agastya in between them.

After dropping Agastya at his daycare with Sam who will stay with him from now on, Joel drove the other two towards the office. Nitya and Atharva both went their ways and the day passed busy for them in work.

In the evening, Nitya knocked on Atharva's office door after confirming from Anisha whether he is busy or not and entered inside on hearing a curt come-in command.

Atharva looked up on the sound of door opening and leaned back in his chair when he saw his wife entering. God she really looked like a fresh flower right now who is still not an ounce close to withering at the end of the day. Immediately frowning at his absurd thoughts, he shook his head slightly.

Nitya : I am done with my work and Agastya would also be waiting for me at home. Are you done or I can go on my own.

Atharva : I have a meeting in half n hour and I don't know how long will it take to wrap up so don't wait for me. But take the car. I will ask Joel to drive you home.

Nitya : If I go then what about you? How will you come home?

Atharva : Joel will come to get me after dropping you.

Nitya nodded : Fine but I can take a cab back home. No need for Joel to travel back and fro.

Atharva : When I said Joel will take you, follow it! Don't try to argue......

Nitya sighed shaking her head. God even suggesting something good to this crude man is useless.

Nitya : What you want to have in dinner??

Atharva : I can fix something for myself. You don't need to worry for me.

Nitya rolled her eyes : I am not worrying for you mister. It's called humanity and I was asking because I still don't know your taste palate. About items you like, dislike and are allergic too.

Atharva tried not to answer her. Keyword being tried. But before he can hold his self control, his lips moved on their own : I can eat anything as long as it's not bland. I like my food a bit spicy and tangy. In veg, I am ok with anything except brinjal. God I just couldn't put it in my mouth. And in non-veg, I can eat everything except lobsters. I am allergic to them.

Nitya noted down the information in her mind and nodded : I am planning to make soya chaat for me today. Will you eat it or shall I make fried rice for you alongwith Agastya??

Atharva : Make fried rice for me too. Like Agastya, even I am allergic to soya.

Nitya : Alright!! Be home on time for dinner or else if you are late then check the fridge. I will keep your plate in it.

Atharva nodded and got back to his work after Nitya left. He tried to focus on the presentation he was making but his thoughts again and again went back to his wife. Fuck from when did he started to participate in playing real house - house with her. They both can't tolerate each other's presence for more than ten minutes and yet since the time they got married, he can see a slight change in the dynamics of their relationship. Even though he can feel it but still he was confused whether Nitya is also feeling this shift in their equation or is he the only one over analysing it??
