25th of December 1992

Robyn awoke with a start as Pansy shook her roughly.

She had slept in the Slytherin dorm (which was most likely not allowed, but Pansy had convinced her), since all her Ravenclaw friends had gone home for Yule. Pansy was the only Slytherin girl staying, so they decided to share the room to not be alone.

"Happy Christmas, Little Robby!"

"Seriously? What time is it?" she grumbled.

"Oh, you know," Pansy mumbled the answer.

"What?"

"Six."

"Nope. Wake me up at a reasonable time," she pulled the covers up to her neck and turned over.

"Happy Christmas, Little Robby!" Pansy shook her again. "It's ten now – and you simply cannot be grumpy on Christmas. I won't allow it."

Robyn deliberately sat up abruptly to try to wake herself up more. "All right, that's fair. Blessed Yule, Pansy, Darling."

"You're so weird," Pansy laughed. "And traditional! Just say Christmas like everyone else!"

"No," she stated as she got up from the bed to do her morning routine.

Robyn had decided the night before that, since Dylan had failed to tell her that she was betrothed (or potentially betrothed), she would confront her today, as all three Rosiers had stayed at Hogwarts. Might as well ruin Yule, or 'Christmas' as Pansy insisted she call it.

As she and Pansy entered the common room, she noted there weren't many people at all. Most probably wanted to get away from the monster roaming the school, especially since the petrifications that happened just over a week ago: the Hufflepuff boy from the duelling club and the Gryffindor ghost. She spotted Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and her siblings sitting around the fireplace, and Pansy's sister was there, too. Good, at least Dylan would have her own friend.

"Finally!" Primrose called as they came into her view. "Let's begin, now."

Robyn had a fair few presents. However, she had received nothing from her parents. She was still being punished for being a Ravenclaw? No presents just seemed cruel. She watched enviously as Dylan unwrapped a posh-looking scarf, hat, and gloves set. Lloyd had received a Nimbus 2001, probably to act as motivation for him to make the Quidditch team in the following year.

And Robyn got nothing.

Was it bratty of her to be upset that her parents had sent her siblings presents, but not her? Either way, her eyes teared up for a second. But she quickly blinked them away.

She was happy, however, to see presents from her Ravenclaw friends. Luna had made her another dreamcatcher to hang off her bed. It was a lovely thing. Lana had given her a book called 'To Kill A Mockingbird', and Willow got her a special edition of 'My Life as a Muggle'. Robyn appreciated these gifts but hid them as soon as she unwrapped them. She couldn't have any of the Slytherins see them. Olivia had drawn a picture of the two of them smiling as if a picture were being taken. She didn't even know Olivia was such a talented artist! From Astoria she had received a pair of fluffy blue socks, while Lloyd had simply given her some sugar quills.

Dylan got her some Chinese Fortune Sticks, which was...strange, to say the least. For one, she didn't really see Dylan as the type who would shop at Zonko's. And two, these were fortune-telling – supposedly a form of Divination. Telling the future. Was Dylan hinting at something...?
