The last D.A. meeting before the Yule holidays was held on the eighteenth of December, and they concentrated on Impedimenta and Stupefy. Robyn, as always, wandered around the room, giving tips to people where she saw fit. Most people were receptive, others (Zacharias Smith) were not.

She didn't really care. It was their (his) loss, not hers.

One thing Robyn noticed – or had been noticing – was the increasing numbers showing up to the meetings. It wasn't a huge difference, but every once in a while, a new face would appear. Astrid, for example, was one of them.

Because Robyn invited her.

Because, after the broom incident, Robyn decided that – aggravating though she could be – Astrid was at least...reliable? Hopefully. She had pulled through and helped Robyn when she had no reason to – in fact, when she had reason to do the opposite. So Robyn invited her to join.

She was more comfortable with Astrid in the D.A. than Marietta, at the very least.

But anyway, the important thing was, the more people they had on their side, the better, in terms of people supporting Harry and being prepared for what the future may bring for them...like, war. That kind of stuff.

Scary thought.

So, the final D.A. session brought with it a Yule-slash-Christmas party.

And another party meant more Firewhisky and whatever else people managed to sneak in. Olivia was particularly excited about that prospect. Robyn could only hope the girl had a better grasp on what her limit was.

After everyone left the Room of Requirement to get ready for this party, Winnie and Dobby the house-elves decorated the room and provided snacks.

(They did not provide the alcohol. Robyn didn't know who did, but whoever it was, she was a fan).

Once ready, instead of heading back to the seventh floor corridor with the Ravenclaw girls, Robyn made a detour to the Slytherin common room. She was looking for one person, and one person only.

"Astoria!"

"Robyn!"

"Remember in summer last year? When you said you wanted to be rebellious?" said Robyn with a knowing smile.

"Of course," Astoria nodded seriously, "and we still haven't done anything!"

...Astoria may not have, but Robyn certainly had.

"Erm, right. We haven't...So! Let's change that."

Astoria beamed. Robyn made a follow me gesture, and off they went.

"No Slytherins!" snarled Zacharias Smith as the two girls arrived a fashionable twenty minutes late.

"No knobheads!" Robyn said back easily, pushing past him into the somewhat dark room where music played loudly. She was pulling Astoria by the hand, who was marvelling at the room she didn't know existed until now.

And then she was exclaiming, "I love this song!" and tugging Robyn's arm in excitement. To Robyn, the song was unfamiliar yet familiar at the same time, somehow.

"What's the song? Who sings it?"

"Gimme Gimme Gimme a Merman After Midnight by that band from magical Sweden. I think they're called BABA."
