5th of February 1994

Ravenclaw had, to Robyn's dismay, lost very closely to Slytherin. The only thing worse than Willow's gloating, she thought, was Lloyd's. And Blaise and Draco's, to an extent. But, ugh, there just was something inherently annoying about brothers. He could breathe too loud and it would piss her off.

Speaking of Blaise, though...

Well, she was thirteen now, as of five days ago.

Just saying.

Anyway...

Even though they had lost to Slytherin, it didn't mean they were completely out the running. They had to beat Gryffindor though. Except, the Gryffindor team were really strong this year. And, if she heard correctly, Potter had been gifted a Firebolt for Yule. A Firebolt would make Cho Chang's Comet Two Sixty look like a joke.

She sat at breakfast with the Ravenclaws who were all prattling on about the match, especially Willow and Chester. Nerves, probably.

Suddenly, all chatter ceased as the Gryffindor team strutted into the Great Hall.

Did they think they were famous or something?

Noise erupted once more as everyone and their nan whispered about Harry Potter's Firebolt. The boy and his entourage sat down looking enormously satisfied. Robyn scrunched up her face snidely.

Several people were going over to Potter to see the broom, and even though Robyn, deep down, was rather looking forward to seeing it in action, she wasn't going to go pander to him about it. Except...

"I have to see that broom up close!" Willow declared, absolutely determined. "Who's coming with me? I don't want to seem like a creepy, stalker-y fan."

Olivia perked up. "Oh, Robyn's friends with Hermione. Take her with you."

"No—"

"Great! Come on!" Willow dragged Robyn out her seat and round the tables to the other side of the hall, Robyn almost tripping several times as the taller girl used her long legs to her advantage.

"Slow down, woman!" Robyn hissed as she adjusted her blue tartan pinafore. "The broom's not going anywhere! And you literally saw it in the shop!"

Willow ignored her and continued hurriedly to where Potter was sitting. And, as usual, where there's Potter, there's Weasley and...no, Granger was sitting away from her friends. Odd.

Penelope Clearwater brushed past them with a quick 'good luck' to Willow and pulled Percy Weasley away, giving Robyn and Willow space to see the broom.

"Wow," Willow gasped and leaned over some random Gryffindor boys who looked displeased, but she clearly didn't care anymore about seeming like a 'creepy, stalker-y fan'. Robyn snickered as Willow stared at the broom like she was in love.

"Wicked, Potter," she finally said. Robyn nodded mutely but didn't listen to their conversation. She hadn't interacted with either of the boys since the beating up incident, and didn't particularly want to. Instead, she looked down the table to Granger. Granger, who had been quieter than usual during their library sessions this term. Granger, who looked stressed and upset and—

That's weird; Robyn's chest felt tight suddenly.

Granger looked up, making eye contact, and gave her a small smile.

Now she felt like she had butterflies in her tummy.

Again, weird.

She smiled back.
