Robyn looked around the platform, not searching for anyone or anything in particular - if she was, she'd have a hard time doing so: it was busier than she'd seen it in years. Much busier than one year prior. It seemed the number of pupils attending Hogwarts this year had doubled at least - probably not literally, but it seemed that way with all the chaos going on around her, frazzled students and their frantic mothers, their stern fathers telling them to behave, and their siblings shoving them out the way to bagsy the best compartments on the train.

And Robyn had none of that. Robyn was standing alone on the platform. Though, she could feel the weight of hundreds of eyes on her, so, there was that.

It wasn't a comfort.

She watched on enviously while Olivia and Nadir and Amanda bid their tearful goodbyes for another year. Really, she thought it was all a bit much: McGonagall had hired a few more Healers this year, which meant Nadir was allowed to Floo home to spend his evenings with Amanda. He would get Olivia during the day and he would get Amanda at night. What was the big deal? Why were they all crying over each other?

She stuck out her tongue, gagging.

(Or maybe she was just jealous. Maybe she wished they were including her in their family hug; maybe she wished she had a family of her own to hug.)

She stood alone on the platform. But not for long.

"Bit mawkish, aren't they?" she said without looking at Willow, who had appeared beside her.

"It's cute. Olivia's very in touch with her emotions, which is great to have in a partner. Hate to think what poor Hermione has to go through with you being so closed off and emotionally stunted and all."

Emotionally stunted, was she, when she cried every day of summer? Closed off, was she, when she bared her soul to Hermione about her occasional suicidal thoughts?

Willow was teasing her. She knew that. But it didn't do much to help the deep dark feelings of I don't deserve Hermione, everyone loved Dylan, it should have been me and so on and so forth.

"Hm," Robyn grunted disbelievingly. "Do I even want to know what else she's very in touch with?"

Willow ignored her innuendo, nudging her shoulder. "Why are you so grumpy! Back to school, aren't we? Another year at Hogwarts - our last year at Hogwarts, and with no evil megalomaniacs running around. Turn that frown upside down!"

"I'll turn you upside down."

"With what wand?" snorted Willow.

Robyn opened her mouth to reply but someone spoke over her. "Bear in mind you're talking to the girl who smacked the teeth straight out of Bellatrix Lestrange's mouth. I don't think she needs a wand."

Willow tutted, apparently offended by Astrid's assertion. "You reckon skinny-malinky over here could take me in a fight? Really? Genuinely?"

"Sure, why not? Scrapped with that Slytherin sket a few years ago, didn't she? Who've you scrapped?"

"Well." Willow frowned, considering. "Well, I'm a Beater. I'm incredibly well-versed in clobbering people with sticks."

"Ooh, you're well hard," Robyn commented sarcastically.

"You don't clobber people," said Astrid, "you clobber bludgers at people. And I never said sticks were allowed in this hypothetical fight. So, I ask again, who've you scrapped?"

Willow rolled her eyes. "You, in a second, ginger minge."

"Did someone say 'minge'?"

Robyn burst into laughter at Luna's entrance.
