Robyn saw Hermione in the library with Potter several times over the next few days. The two of them were always religiously poring over books, presumably looking up ways to battle a dragon.

And Robyn would feel sorry for Potter, but then she'd remember he was dating Hermione, and she'd change her mind.

However, the day before the first task, she briefly sat with Viktor again in the library. And who walked past their table but Hermione Granger. Just like Robyn had, Hermione subtly dropped a scrunched up piece of parchment as she passed.

Except, she stopped. Because someone was calling for her attention. It wasn't Robyn. It was Viktor.

The piece of parchment lay on the floor waiting to be opened. Robyn stared at it while Hermione backtracked to see what Viktor wanted.

"You are Hermy-own?"

"Er, Hermione."

"Herm-own-ninny."

"Hermione. Her-my-oh-nee."

"Herm- Dushichka."

"Bless you," muttered Robyn while she moved her gaze back to the page in front of her, not actually taking in any of the information.

Hermione gave her a glance before turning to Viktor again. "...Sorry?"

"Is name for you."

Hermione clearly didn't know what the word meant. And neither did Robyn, but she wasn't sure she wanted to, because...why was Viktor looking at Hermione like that?

"Okay then," conceded Hermione. "Did you need something?"

Viktor stood from his chair and gave a formal bow. "I am Viktor." Hermione watched him strangely.

"...Yes, you are."

He then held out his hand expectantly, waiting for Hermione to hold out her own. When she finally did, he placed a light kiss on it. Hermione looked bewildered.

"You are...different, from others," he added. "You do not...fawn, like them," he gestured to a group of giggling girls who had passed their section of the library at least three times to stare at him.

Robyn let out a quiet gasp of realisation. He fancied Hermione.

Seriously?

...Must run in the family.

Wait, no. Not anymore.

"Oh," said Hermione blankly. "I mean, I'm here to work. The first task is tomorrow. And, no offence, but I have no interest in—"

Robyn blurted, "She has a boyfriend," then returned her gaze to her book, feeling annoyed and embarrassed all at once.

Indeed, Wendelin the Weird enjoyed being burned so much that she allowed herself to be caught no less than forty-seven times in various disguises.

She read that sentence about four times while Viktor and Hermione continued their conversation.

"Well—"

"Is true, then? You are with Harry Potter?"

Robyn didn't want to hear it. She slammed the book shut and stood up without looking at either of them. "Bye," she said flatly before scooping up the piece of parchment from the floor and fleeing.

It simply read:

Thank you x
