Dear Dylan,
Day 57 without you. Day 16 without Hermione.
I feel better this week because we got to go back to community service with a new supervisor. Also, Willow came back and finally managed to fix the telly so I can watch Pingu now. Except so many of the episodes are about Pingu and his sister Pinga and it makes me sad because you were my Pinga.
Or I guess I was your Pinga because she's the little sister. So, you were my Pingu.
Either way it's nice to have the telly as a distraction.
But Nadir said Pingu is too immature for me and I need to watch shows for teenagers (I'm an adult in the wizarding world mind you). So he bought me a box set called "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" which he thought would be funny. It's about a half-witch half-"mortal" girl whose surname is literally Spellman and it's nothing like the real wizarding world. Muggles are so silly sometimes. She has a talking cat! His name is Salem and he's black like Jinx. Nadir watched some of the show with me and he said I'm basically Sabrina. I beg to differ.
It is interesting to see Muggles' perceptions and fantasies I suppose. But they really are silly. Especially the ones with the American accents. I think you would've liked it.
If I get any new box sets I'll let you know. I have pretty much all the time in the world to watch TV now, and don't tell Hermione I said this but it's actually more fun than reading.
She's on the Gold Coast now. She said she's seen possums (had no idea what that was, had to look in the book) but no koalas or kangaroos or drop bears or Yara-Ma-Yha-Whos. And no parents either. I told her not to go swimming or she'll be eaten by a shark or a "croc". She said crocodiles aren't found at beaches in the south and she doesn't have time for swimming anyway.
The way she's looking for her parents is by using the phone book to phone people (like Floo call) and she's also visiting various places like dental practices (because they are dentists (which means they fix teeth)) and council buildings and libraries for records. She also hired a wizard with a mullet called Barry Bruce who they're to call "Bazza". He's part driver, part investigator, or something like that. Basically you need a special licence to drive cars (makes sense because they're very dangerous) and Hermione doesn't have one and of course Ginny doesn't. And he's an investigator which I presume means he's helping them investigate.
Sounds awfully boring but at least the weather's nice. Not sure how she's going to put up with Ginny or someone who wishes to be referred to as "Bazza" for so long though. I certainly couldn't.
Song of the week is still the one about football (which is like Quidditch but on the ground). It must be really good but I wouldn't know as Olivia refuses to sing it "out of principle" or something like that.
