Angie's POV

"Surprise!" I found the cast of Six and some other people recognized crowded on the stage  of the Brooks Atkinson theatre.

I ran up to Mallory, and hugged her. I hugged Courtney and Nicole next. Then Abby, Andrea, Anna, and Adrianna. Then Brittany, who'd adopted me as her partner in crime.

Okay, so I was lying by saying I didn't have friends. I had one friend. Janelle.

"Ang!" She hug tackled me. "I haven't heard from you in over a month! When school ended! Why didn't you tell me you knew freaking Samantha Pauly!" Janelle refused to let go of me.

"Hey Janelle. Why don't I introduce you to some people?" Janelle linked her arm through mine, and I refused to let my fluttering heart show.

"So this is my second mother Andrea. She's my secondary guardian." Andrea was super excited to meet Janelle.

"This is my foster mother and father, Samantha and Matt." Samantha and Janelle hit it off, Janelle telling her embarrassing stories of me.

"This is Brittany Mack, and Abby Mueller." She was starstruck by Abby. "Anna and Adrianna." Janelle showed off her dance skills, and Anna told her she showed promise of being a professional, which left Janelle in shock.

"And finally, Mallory, Nicole, and Courtney. All of whom are like my big sisters."

"Hi Janelle! I've heard nothing about you!" Mallory gave me the stink eye.

"Likewise!" Janelle stuck her tongue out at me.

Janelle stayed talking with Mallory, while Sam pulled me over.

"I'd like you to meet Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss." I collapsed, and was in shock.

"Angie are you okay!" Sam hauled me to my feet.

"I've always wanted to meet them." I managed to choke out. "I idolize Lucy Moss."

"I've heard a lot about you Angie. You've been accepted into Internships on Broadway right? That's an amazing program, and it's very elite. You must be very talented." Lucy shook my hand.

Toby shook my hand. "Six opened itself to the program, hopefully you'll get placed here."

"I'm praying to get accepted to some of my favorite shows. Dear Evan Hansen, The Prom, it's eight shows, and I'm hoping to get accepted to at least one of them." I manage to say.

"Fingers crossed." Lucy gives me a kind smile, and I choked with happiness.

The rest of the party was amazing, I haven't had a birthday party since my mom died.

Then it was Saturday. My phone alarm woke me up, and I anxiously waited for ten o'clock. I had my water bottle in my new purple backpack, and my hair was braided by Sam. Mallory was going to pick me up from the meeting, and we'd go get lunch after that, then I'd go to the theatre and review my schedule while they have rehearsal.

Because Sam was afraid of sending me through the subway alone, she rode with me to my stop, then took her train to the theatre.

The nice lady at the front fold out table introduced herself as Dani, and asked what my name was.

"I'm Angel Flores."

"Angel, yes, here's your name. Any nickname preferences?"

"I go by Angie."

"Here's your name tag. Go ahead and meet Jan in the other room." I waved as I followed a sign j to a big dance studio kind of room.

A woman with a name tag reading, "Jan" waved me over.
