Janelle's POV

Every time Angie cries my heart breaks into a million pieces. But she's hurting hard and I need to be her rock.

I got my license recently and I offered to drive her to the hospital. She was crying so hard, and I tried to keep myself strong as I carried her to the car and made sure she was settled before I started the car.

At the hospital, she refused to leave my side, besides getting up to hug her parents and family.

So I made my decision. I would be her rock until she didn't need me to be. I'd always be here for her.

Angie's POV

Hospitals are terrifying. I don't know how I haven't noticed it before. I've been in the hospital multiple times since my adoption. Like when I tripped down the stairs at school and I sprained my wrist two months ago, I'm fine now by the way.

Courtney and Abby were in the hospital and I was terrified.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, Abby was awake.

"Auntie!" I cried the first moment I was allowed into her room.

"Star. I'm okay, I'm okay." She held me as I cried into her.

"Star?" I looked up at her face.

"You're my little star, and I wanted to give you a special nickname." She kissed my forehead.

"I love you Aunt Abby."

"I love you too little star."

Eventually, Mallory came in and informed me Courtney was finally awake.

Abby gave me another hug and I went into the room beside her's.

Courtney's leg was propped up into some pillows and she was carefully drinking water.

She smiled at me. "Hey Angie."

"Are you really hurt?"

"Nah. I'm tough little sis. I thought you knew me better than that. I'll be okay, just a couple scars."

And a broken leg, that leaves its scars behind.
