All I Do Is Sing

Angie's POV

All I did was rehearsal. Apparently Miss Johnson got special permission from the school to pull us out of class for the next two and a half weeks, promising them they wouldn't have to pay the extra fee for holding the stage longer.

Yes it's at the Brooks Atkinson. Six was being put on hold while a new cast was rehearsing, so we cleared off the purple curtain and pulled three all nighters with the crew and some parents and professionals to build the set.

Yes my whole family helped. Except Courtney. Good news, she's out of the hospital. She just called out when something was crooked and offered snacks and water.

Because I was off book before auditions, I didn't need time to learn my lines which helped the process greatly. Caleb was off book after me, with everyone else quickly following.

The stage manager had to ASMs because a) Into the Woods is such a large scale productions and ASMs can be a godsend sometimes. And b) WERE FREAKING PUTTING THIS SHOW ON IN TWO AND A HALF WEEKS HOW COULD WE NOT!!

So yeah, obviously taking this sooo well.

Today was the costume fitting, the one we were getting. It's been about a week and a half, leaving only one week left.

I was wearing this beautiful silvery ballgown with golden slippers (obviously).

"And we'll pin your hair up and curl it when you're at the kings festival. And when you're...peasanty...you'll just have your hair kind of down but pulled back I guess is a good way to describe it."

"Thanks May." I smiled at the head of costumes.

"Hey Angie, can you come over here?" It was the SM, Ollie. (You Isle_Of_Spaceheaters !!!)

I thanked May, changed out of my costumes quickly and hurried over. "What is it?" I asked.

"We need someone to help transfer the sets from the choir room to the theatre, and the entire crew and most of the actors are coming but we need two more people. You're the only one who either isn't coming or can't make it."

"Oh I can come, and my girlfriend has a car she'll help us."

"Great, we're packing up right now, can you call her please?" Ollie turned away to tell someone where to put the ticket sales money. "Oh Ella the programs need to go with the ticket funds and the hats. Thank you Angie, I have to go help-Peter! Wrong skirt! No over-ugh. Bye Angie." Ollie started directing the crew again.

Janelle agreed to come and help us transport the stuff.

So here we were, me in the backseat making sure boxes of costumes weren't going to fall over, and Janelle driving carefully using one arm to make sure the disassembled Tree Mother wasn't going to fall.

"Hey can I talk with you?" She asked.

"Yeah Ellie. What is it?"

"I..graduated early."

"Ellie that's great!"

"So you support me? I got into NYU, we'll still be able to spend time during the summer and.."

"I'm so proud of you."

When we got to the theatre it was chaos. Ollie and Miss Johnson were shouting directions.

"TECH REHEARSAL! LETS GO!" Miss Johnson cried. "Angie, do you know how to work the system?"

And just like that I'm thrown into the complicated world of tech rehearsals. And more singing.
