Angie's POV
"Hi Angie, please take a seat." Ms Summer says, gesturing to the empty chair in her office. Principal James occupied the other seat.
"So Angie, we looked at your record, and I assume you've had a hard couple of years, because some of your attendance records are missing, and grades drop and pick back up in odd places." Principal James says.
"Yes, but this past summer I was adopted and my father was arrested, so I'm doing a whole lot better." I say.
"I'm very glad to hear that, but can you tell us why?" She presses.
"Well, after my mother died, which I later found out was because my father killed her, my father because abusive, and started inviting friends over. They'd drink, and hit me, and drink, and...do other things. And drink. And eventually, my father kicked me out. But before he did that, I'd have to miss school because he needed me to do housework. My grades would drop because the abuse was particularly bad at certain times." I say.
The principal nods. "Angie, it's not just your academic record. You're actually a very bright student. How old are you?"
"I'm fifteen."
"That's not true. Your father must have lied to you, your actually sixteen. Meaning your behind a year in school, and you'll have to do homeschooling until you can make it up. You're being removed from the show as well." Principal James says it delicately. "We're replacing you with Marissa Jones will take your place and Evelyn Nesbit will be recast with an ensemble member."
I don't remember anything after that because I blacked out.
