Barbatos carried a thick pile of documents. He was bringing them over to Lord Diavolo. He was told they were needed urgently, and so he complied these papers as quick as he possibly could. He hardly had time for a break, but he didn't mind much.

His entire focus was on serving his lord. The butler was lost in his thoughts, however, he didn't fail to notice the footsteps rushing down the hallway.

Just from how these steps sounded, he instantly knew who was coming to greet him. He let out a very light grunt as he was ambushed by strong arms.

A cheerful, delightful voice spoke close to his ear. "I finally found you, Barb!" The demon proclaimed happily. A very small smile sneaked up onto Barbatos's lips.

He pat the male who held him gently on the head. "You shouldn't run down the halls like that. What if you were to fall or crash into Lord Diavolo?" Barbatos scolded, but it was evident that he wasn't actually that angry.

(M|n) just hugged him tighter, burying his face into the back of his neck. "Where have you been all day? I was going to bring you your lunch, but you were nowhere to be found." The demon exclaimed with a pout. The butler shook his head with a small sigh.

"I have told you plenty of times that you do not need to do such things for me." Barbatos murmured. (M|n) was a very energetic demon. In all the centuries that they knew each other, never once had he tried to relax.

Like Barbatos, he was always making himself busy with work. "Stop being a hypocrite. You work so hard for Lord Diavolo, so I have to make sure that you don't crash and burn in the process. I can't leave my boyfriend to do everything." Barbatos let out a chuckle at (M|n)'s stubbornness.

Not once had the boy been complacent. If he wanted to do something, he would do it, no matter what others had to say. Admittedly, that was Barbatos loved most about his loving demon. (M|n) was frowning at him.

Barbatos ran his gloved fingers through the other's hair. "Okay, okay. I won't say anything more. Well, I was just about to give Lord Diavolo some important papers. If you wouldn't mind, could you bring it to his office?" (M|n) pulled away immediately, nodding his head madly.

"I'll go get it right away!" The demon exclaimed. Despite Barbatos's light-hearted scolding about running previously, the other ran to get his lunch. He couldn't help but let out an affectionate laugh. Barbatos wished that (M|n) would stop stretching himself thin by always doing things for him and being there for him.

He did so many things to ensure that his work as a butler was stress-free. He always brought him food when he hadn't eaten, comforted him when he was trying not to get stressed out. . . He sometimes felt like he didn't deserve such a kind and caring man.

He stood there, thinking about (M|n) and when they first met. It felt like it was just yesterday that he stumbled upon him. . .

Barbatos gazed at Master Diavolo, who in the future, would become his lord. He was to assist the young demon as much as he could for as long as he lived. Barbatos didn't mind too much. The young demon came from a line of butlers who served the royal demon family. His role was assigned to him at birth, and there was no way he could change this. It's not like Barbatos actually minded.
