Leviathan tried focusing on the new manga he recently bought but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't process the pages in front of him. He was too distracted by his numerous, anxious thoughts. He groaned to himself and gently shut his book.

"What can I do?. . ." He mumbled, his voice sounding clueless and lost. Lately, all he had been doing was brewing with anxiety. This anxiety had first taken root when. . . He happily but hesitantly agreed to going out with (M|n). The human asked to go out with him almost five months ago. Levi was shocked to say the least when heard those words leave (M|n)'s mouth. At first, he thought that (M|n) had been messing around, but it turned out he was truly serious. . .

No one. . . And I mean no one had ever asked Leviathan out. It was a shocking truth, but even having lived all these centuries, the demon had never had a significant other, mainly due to the fact that he both pushed people away when they got too close because he believed he didn't deserve to be in their presence and he also didn't attempt to create close relations with others.

This common behaviour of his slowly began changing when (M|n) entered the exchange programme. Of course, at first, Levi considered (M|n) an extreme normie, and wanted to have nothing to do with him. However, as time passed, and they both got to know each other. . . He surprisingly began to open up more to the human, sharing feelings that he sometimes didn't even share with his brothers. He obviously felt at times that he was just burdening (M|n), however the human constantly reassured him that he didn't mind and that in fact he was happy Levi was opening up to him.

Leviathan never saw this relationship progressing any further. He thought that maybe (M|n) would prefer to be just close friends and nothing more. His overthinking led him to believe that (M|n) wouldn't want someone like him in his life all the time. So, when the demon one day came to the realisation that he'd actually developed feelings for the human, he. . . Pretended that those particular feelings did not exist, that they were just a figment of his imagination. However, he could no longer deny how he felt when (M|n) made the decision to ask him out. . .

Leviathan had been a whole mix of emotions that day. He was so happy. . . But along with happiness, he also felt doubt and anxiety about (M|n)'s feelings. He carried this doubt with him for months on end which led to him not being able to concentrate on a lot of things that he loved, which was very rare for him.

These doubts festered and grew as the months wore on. He pondered upon whether (M|n)'s feelings were true or whether they were out of pity for the way he lived his life. . . He wondered whether he was worthy of being (M|n)'s significant other. He felt extremely hesitant to bring this up to (M|n) because he didn't want to destroy their relationship or say something hurtful without meaning to. . . So, he kept how he was feeling to himself, resulting in his doubts only growing crazier by the day.

The demon could tell that reading wouldn't do the trick so he gave up, deciding that instead he would immerse in this new game that he got just a few days ago. He quickly rose from the sofa. He tried to think about Ruri-Chan and Azuki-tan as he exited the library and briskly walked to his bedroom.
