(M|n) was sad. . . He felt a little homesick right now. He wished he could see his siblings and father. Unfortunately, Lord Diavolo couldn't allow it.
He turned on his D.D.D. and sighed as he took notice of the date. The 1st of November. Tomorrow would be Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Usually at this time of the year, (M|n) would be with his family, preparing for the big celebration.
Día de Los Muertos is a Mexican holiday, which involved families gathering to together and praying for those they've lost. However, it wasn't a day of mourning, rather it was a day to celebrate the lives of those who'd passed away.
(M|n)'s mother had died a year ago, due to a type of lymphoma. They hadn't discovered it until it was too late. Usually, (M|n) and his whole family would pore over a picture album which contained many old worn pictures of their mother when she was young and happy with their father.
(M|n) didn't realise that he'd stopped listening to the lesson. His notebook was completely blank, with no evidence of work within it.
What snapped him out of his thoughts was the loud bell, signalling that school was finished for the day. (M|n) gasped as he came to realise that he hadn't done anything.
He stared at his empty page with a weary expression. He was startled by a page full of notes being placed next to him. (M|n) glanced up and was treated to the angelic smile of Simeon.
"I noticed that you were out of sorts. You looked a little upset. So, I decided to make extra notes for you because I thought that you might have missed what the teacher said." (M|n) was almost moved to tears at this tiny gesture of kindness.
He was feeling very emotional today.
"Thank you." (M|n) murmured in a soft voice. Simeon took a seat besides him with a gentle smile.
"Would you like to speak to me about what the issue is? You don't have to, but I find talking about my problems with others helps." (M|n) pondered over Simeon's words. After a lot deliberation, he began to speak.
"I'm not able to see my family. It's making me feel homesick. Also, Día de Los Muertos is happening tomorrow. I usually celebrate it with my family but Lord Diavolo told me that he can't allow me to visit the human world at the moment. . ." (M|n) frowned. He clenched his hands into tight fists.
Simeon tilted his head. "What is this Día de Los Muertos?. . ." He murmured curiously.
"Oh, in English it is called 'The Day of the Dead'. It's a Mexican holiday where we celebrate the lives of those who passed away." (M|n) stated with a bright grin.
Simeon appeared interested. "I've never heard of such a thing. It sounds like a beautiful tradition." Simeon murmured. (M|n) slumped in his chair.
Simeon gently pat (M|n)'s head. The angel got up from his seat. His eyes suddenly widened, and he gazed intensely over at (M|n). "I've got an idea, (M|n). How about you celebrate The Day of the Dead in the Devildom?! It may help deal with that homesickness you're feeling and you could also introduce a part of your culture to the brothers in the House of Lamentation." (M|n)'s eyes widened at the suggestion.
He shot up so fast from his chair that it was sent crashing to the floor.
"That's a great idea! I've always wondered how I could show a piece of my culture to the brothers and this is it! Thank you, Simeon." (M|n) squeezed the male as he hugged him tight. Simeon lightly patted (M|n)'s shoulder with a happy smile.
