Lord Diavolo scanned the list with weary eyes. His heart felt heavy as his eyes spotted a familiar name amongst the latter of other names. He glanced up, his light-golden irises locking with his close friend, the Grim Reaper. The male's face was hidden with a huge, black hood.

The Reaper's only friend was Diavolo. This was due to Diavolo's kind nature towards him and the fact that no matter what he did, Diavolo didn't judge him. He just continued to be affectionate towards him.

(M|n) (L|n)'s name was written down. Lord Diavolo gripped the paper tightly as he asked his friend.

"What is the cause of his death going to be?" His voice was very soft as he asked this. The Grim Reaper thought about it for a moment before shrugging helplessly.

"All I can tell you is that he will pass away from an unknown disease. This disease is not known by any of the realms since it hasn't been discovered yet, so I can't disclose that information with you. There is no way humans can avoid death, no matter how hard they try. There is no way you can prevent what's going to happen to him." The Reaper had recognised the name when he saw it appear on his list of people who were unfortunately going to pass.

Lord Diavolo had told him about the human who had drastically changed the life of the former angels who now resided in the Devildom.

He knew that Lord Diavolo must want to know this information, despite it being so painful.

Lord Diavolo averted his eyes. "I came to tell you so you would be able to prepare them all and that the death didn't come as a painful surprise for them all. Giving you this information a week in advance means that they can slowly come to terms with the fact that (M|n) will pass away." Lord Diavolo appreciated the Grim Reaper's actions.

Lord Diavolo, despite feeling grief slowly settling on his heart, placed a hand on the Reaper's shoulder with a broad smile.

"Thank you for informing me. I shall tell everyone what will happen." The Grim Reaper nodded.

"I have to get going. I'm sorry I arrived with such grim information. This was not what I wanted to talk about when we met, but it had to be said. I'll see you another time." The Reaper provided a wave before vanishing before the Demon King's eyes.

Diavolo took in a deep breath before slumping into his chair. He buried his face into his hands. He had never seen the brothers so content with a human in his entire life. He didn't want to present the news that (M|n) would inevitably be leaving them.

A knock sounded out on his office door. Slowly, Lord Diavolo lifted his face.

"Lord Diavolo, it is me." Barbatos spoke out.

"Come in." Lord Diavolo answered in a strained voice. Barbatos opened the door with a tray of food. He tilted his head when he noticed the look on Lord Diavolo's face.

"Is something the matter, my lord?" Barbatos asked out of concern. Diavolo didn't know what to do in that moment. He let out a shaky breath, taking his time to give his butler a suitable response without a tremble in his voice.

"Please tell the brothers and (M|n) in the House of Lamentation to gather in the dining hall. I have an important matter to discuss with them all." Barbatos frowned. He bowed before his lord.
